Problem with Bulb mode for Long exposure with Canon 60 D.

Did any CSers outthere encounter similar problem? But checked with canon's C.Service Technical help desk, they said it is not unusual.

when i set to Bulb mode to take long exposure image, may be set to 5 sec, 10, or longer, the image will appear in LCD monitor only almost twice the duration of the time frame i set for taking long exposure.

for example, i set to 10 SEc , the red light would light up and dispear aboout 10 sec, but would take another 10 sec or what ever time frame i set for the image to appear on the LCD monitor.

it is unlike other canon DSLR model, which image would appear exactly immediately after red light is off, let sy set for 10 sec, or 1 mins, red red light would off at the time frame set, image would just appear in LCD immediately.

just want to verify with other 60D users anything wrong with my 60 D.

Thank you.

Hi Bro,

Oh actually I face similar situation too. So it would be better to simply reduce the noise in PP later on right? I tot its my card that is lousy :P

Tecnica / kongfu,

yeah, problem resovlved by resetting the noise reduction which feed back by CSers and brothers out there, problem solved.

thank you very much.

Hi Bro,

ic...thanks for the feedback..will off all those reduction function the next time i use it thanks! :)

I do noise reduction only in pp phase. NR in cam, saps a lot of time and battery power.

Ok I gave up. Sold the camera already. Noted that it is almost impossible to do burst shots, even with class 10 SD. 5.3 fps don't really work as mentioned.

curious y u r unable to do burst shots as i have no problem even with class4. What is your shutter speed when doing burst? Also r u shooting in RAW+Jpeg or?

I was shooting RAW. Shutter about 1/200. It's ok la, I concluded that 5.3 FPS comes with certain condition, which is not important now. If the camera do not suit me, I will just sell it off. It was a back up unit anyway, that's why I did not test it's FPS when I bought cos the initial intention was just to use it for video :).

That said, it is still a very capable camera, just dun suit me that's all

Edit: My SD was a class 6 btw :)

Haha yeah that's what I did when I bought mine. Anyway wont be using the camera when i sleep ma :p Even though there are some who don't charge 8 hrs la. After that can last you about 1200 shots at least.

I guess for the first time it's advised to charge for 8hrs. The longer the battery is stored in the shop, higher is the discharging going to be. Atleast when I purchased, mine was full drained. I charged it overnight.

Hi all, should I try waiting for a possible 70D or 650D with digic 5, if not I'll be getting my 60d tomorrow. Need urgent replies...

How long can u wait? A newer model will most probably be better than a older one.

Get a resale set first, then decide later

Until the end of this month... Rumours say June though...

Does anyone know what possible kit lenses might come with the 60D upgrade?
