Anyway, I wanted to get my 15-85 (decided on it) from DDE, as they offer a diamond extended warranty 3 years at $197, and it covers accidental damage, and if your camera kena water or sand, its also covered. So very attractive. But in the end decided against it cos I feel safer with local warranty.

Of course I remember you la Actually I oso feel safer to get the local set but actually my fren told me there's no diff but I felt if the lens is working fine then no diff la but what happen if we need to calibrate the lens? Then pay CSC to do it? So to play safe I think local set still safer

Bro, at J316 the 15-85 is 1080, and the 17-55 is 1550 or around there. Why don't you get the 15-85 for the extra zoom range, and use the 1550-1080=$470 to maybe get a 2nd hand 50 1.4! Just my 2 cents worth.

I was checking back my photos and found alot of them actually not sharp due to low shutter speed + the IS on 18-55 sucks so I more or less decided I'll get the 17-55 to avoid similar situation. Just that I wanna sell and 600D and change together but I only have a week to do that cos quote is valid for 1 week nia

So u got your lens liao? Otherwise call a few more shops. Like SLRR, TK Parisilk quoted me 1535 for the 17-55 but TCW quoted 1480!!! I don't want prime le cos prime force you to think b4 u shoot wheras zoom lens just zoom n shoot

Just that I wanna sell and 600D and change together but I only have a week to do that cos quote is valid for 1 week nia

Because personally I found that 600D is already a capable camera, and normally people who have 600D won't upgrade to 60D =) (I personally chose 60D than 600D simply because it has all cross-type sensors and better controls - especially that 8 ways navigation button and the wheel around it)

There're ppl suggesting BG but I dont like it n dont nid it so ya.. What's your take on this?

looking at the rear of the camera, press the top right button n turn the top scroll.. u will change the AF points... if all are lighted, means its auto select of af point

oh.. make sure ur lens switch is set to auto focus..

I see.. Yes I know that it has bigger dimension thus giving better grip for people with big hands. Some also said that it feels heavier thus more "solid" in their hands. For the battery grip, it depends on your requirement. For me 60D default battery is enough, since I'm not a pro and I don't do any long hours photo session (Or probably haven't LOL). It's just that, not many people who have 600D (or even 550D) have the urgency to "upgrade" to 60D =)

Hmm that's weird, the AF points are sure selectable, at least on Av, Tv, and M modes. I'm not sure with the Auto mode, tho (very rarely use Auto).

like what xSuicidaLx said, that's one of the ways to select your AF points. The other is to use the 8 way navigational button. Basically, it should be the same with 600D. You might also want to read the manual book again, for sure you can find more details there.

Must choose the correct mode also. Green box cannot Choose AF Point. Must be in P, AF, TV, Manual, Bulb mode. Hey I think 600D is missing bulb mode.

600D has the Bulb mode, need to scroll pass the 30s shutter speed in TV or Manual mode, then can use Bulb. Not sure if the 60D has dedicated bulb mode. 60D look so much more pro from 600D

so you've decided on the 17-55? Then how about the extra zoom range on the 15-85? Anyway, both are good lenses so either way you'll have an enjoyable time shooting just that you have to see which one is more suited to your preference. Bro, I suggest don't get from TCW, the 15-85 quote I got from them is $980, but no box and is shop warranty, and after doing some research on them I found out that theirs are grey sets, hence no local warranty, only shop. That was for my 15-85, dunno abt the 17-55. Why you only got one week to change? :O

600D to 60D is really waste of money.

if you want to upgrade, go for the 7D/5D.

i suggest you save your cash for better lenses.

Get what you mean but at least its more comfortable to hold than the 600D ma. Nvr tot of FF at this point cos I like the crop factor or maybe you can enlighten me how better is it from a crop if landscape is not my priority?

The 600D does have B mode la...just dial all the way for shutter speed in M mode and after 30secs its bulb liao. Like I say the upgrade is more on the ergonomics than anything else.

600D has the Bulb mode, need to scroll pass the 30s shutter speed in TV or Manual mode, then can use Bulb. Not sure if the 60D has dedicated bulb mode. 60D look so much more pro from 600D

Pro or no Pro doesn't matter la. What matter most is whether you're comfortable holding the camera otherwise give you a powerful cam you will oso hiam cos its uncomfortable to hold it for a long period. Well at least thats wat I think

7D, my budget will only be enuf for a 15-85.

Upgrading to FF all points down to better IQ, better low light quality, much much lesser hot pixel, Great DOF control and all the lens will work like they are suppose to.

I start FF with 5D classic and sigma 50mm 1.4 only. It is an old cam but it is amazing, even better than any crop sensor that I have used. Plus the price of the 2nd hand 5D classic is very close to the 60D.

Lol you forgot liao meh.. I'm only tossing between 15-85 and 17-55 (almost wanted to get the 17-55 yesterday). As for telephoto lens, obviously it'll be either 70-200 f4 or 70-300L but I dont see the need to upgrade urgently as I seldom use my 55-250 oso.

you say "enough for a 15-85", i thought you still wanna get other lenses.

15-85 and 17-55 are 2 different lenses, so again it boils down to whether you want the reach or f2.8.

it's not a tough choice when you know what you need. as for tele lens, it can come later, after you are done with your current dilemma, haha.

Haha just for one screen protector? Not worth it la bro! Anyway, just like bro tecnica mentioned, 600D to 60D is not a big jump, might as well just go for 7D, else just stay with your 600D lor IMHO, i don't think it's worth to upgrade just because or the ergomonics, 7D is a better bet. Just my opinion
