wasn't there a 15-85mm ?
I think that is a very flexible focal range. For holiday pics, that's hard to fault this lens

Are you refering to 17-85? Cannot find 15-85 in the lens lineup. Anyway I like the constant F2.8...so thats why EFS 17-55 F2.8.

I second that. Its wider than kit lenses and gives a very reasonable zoom range for travel. Not to mention its excellent quality, able to match some L lenses. A good lens to consider, but price a little on the high side. And its variable aperture causes some to steer away from this lens as well.

without a doubt, f2.8 is definitely sharper

thanks bro for sharing the link..;)

Well its not so much the 2.8 that makes the 17-55 sharp. Partly it does, but mostly its the excellent glass that went into the production of this lens. =D

Just got my 60D last weekend, compare to 500D, weight is much heavier but it did balance out with my 24-105 lens.

Now thinking should I get the grip ?

Used to bought the grip for 500D cause the body too small for my hand.
With 60D, just nice for my hand, but the AA tray really useful when you used up the juice of the battery.
Which shop still carry them cause I having a hard time hurting for one. price too please.
Thanks alot friends.

It think it is not available yet as it is totally different from all EOS models... hehe! Imagine I was using 1000D with 24-105 mm lens... tons of stress on my fingers just to keep it balanced... haha!

Oh yah... 24-105 seems to focus faster for Canon 60D.

How much is the 0% installment with the credit cards? Which bank is it? I was quoted $1417 (inc GST) by CASH.

good price for Tamron 17-50/f2.8, now thinking to replace this with my 17-55 and get the saving for 70-200mm/f4 IS with some top-up

Isnt the 17-55 a good lens to pair with the 60D?

Yes, but most of the time my 24-105 is attached on 60D cause shooting mostly outdoor.
my 17-55 only come out to take a 'shoot' once in a blue moon. Seem like a waste to me.:embrass:

oic....I am about to get the 60D with 17-55 F2.8! Hopefully it is the right combo for me to shoot my daughter....

for those interested in getting the 60D on 0% installment, cathay photo(peninsular) is selling at $1480(inc GST) without additional credit card charges:D

I am quoted $1417 by cash....so there is still additional $63...

usually CC company charge the merchant about 4% of the cost. so based on $1480, the CC company will get $59.... hmmm no CC charge, cannot be !

$1470 incl GST for the credit card purchase. currently the cheapest out there for 0% installament i reckon. cheapest cash price is Parisilk at Holland V; $1407 incl GST.

Whoa, that's really cheap from Parisilk! I'm hoping to get the 60D this weekend. :) I usually get stuff from there.. wonder how they get to sell it so competitively though.

Can I know which bank's credit card offers the installment plan at Cathay?

Just bought one for my brother from Harvey Norman @ Funan for $1470 (incl GST) with credit card payment on Sunday, and was told that price doesn't get lowered if pay by cash.
