Welcome aboard the ship mate. Many of us have switched from one camp or another... nothing new there. Hope you enjoy your 5D3 like we do! :)

That's a great idea! I have an old Contax RTS II camera which I haven't used in years. I never thought to use the strap from it and marry it to my 5D3! :D

thanks for the welcome mate! My orders are clear! It is to manned the CANON and shoot anything that moves and that doesn't move!

---------

I can see now the differences. ISO, colours, ergonomics, noiseless image... I say... it is to my liking......

As they say... Put a Canon to your head! ;)

What's your say about L-bracket...for battery grip or without? How many of you all used the battery grip?

I dont use VG coz it will become heavier... Maybe it is just me..

I own and have used the battery grip for the 5D3. I'm not a big fan of it... so for the most part the battery grip remains in storage.

I didn't have the grip but I would kike to use one though. For vertical shooting. Else i do feel my wrist hurts after much vertical shooting. But 1 battery inside is enough.

I have one, been using it since day 1. Vertical shooting is the best using this.
As for batteries, I been using 2 since the grip allowed. The good part is I did not have to recharge my batteries during my trip to thailand for 5 days. The main issue is the weight, It weigh around 1 kg.

At first i thought VG is not important, as i turn my cam and thats it. Then i bought a 3rd party grip.. 120sgd.. Use it like a charm.. Initially, it was heavy, after some time.. U will find that ur hand is bulkier.. Hahahaha... Work out!!!

P.s that only happen to right hand.. Hhaha

I think 1 good reason to buy a third party VG is the weight since it is made of plastic. I am saving to get mine, chromage brand from RDP.

Anyone using 3rd party VG with any L-bracket?

When shooting film using my Contax RTSIII with a built in winder have felt at that time the grip was
not as sturdy especially when using the MET60CT4 Flash with bracket.Fabricated a 'grip' to have better
hand grip when using the flash for better support.

When I got my mk3, I never thought I would use it to shoot sports. Took it out to Kallang Softball Diamonds earlier today and was thoroughly impressed by the AF tracking.
