Is there anyone shooting during Chinese New Year?
I'm going to Genting, and thinking whether to bring my gears or not..

If you are visiting the temple below the resort its worth bringing your gear.
It also depends on where you are going ove there if you are just going to the casino leave the gear at home:)
Just my 2 cents.

Hi,

During exposure or continuous shots, the shooting information in the viewfinder is off. Is there a way to switch this on?
Thank you.

I don't get it. Maybe need other bros to help you.. Usually a click will make it on..
If long exposure, usually we cover the viewfinder..

I don't mean long exposure. For continuous shooting, it is good to see shots available in buffer. But during continuous shooting, the viewfinder information is not available.

I see.. I didn't have camera now.. Can't try and check it out.. We'll wait for other big bro answer your question..

Just wondering if anyone ever lost their camera eyepiece before? I was in the middle of a shoot today and suddenly realized it was missing

Does it come off easily? Never happened to me before with my 400D and 7D.

5dm3's eyepiece has click on the side.. It shouldn't come off easily..

Yes, more than once starting with my good old EOS 300 over a decade ago.

It has a click which sld hold in into it place. But somehow I feel my 5dmk3 eyepiece seem bit loose and can remove easier compare to my 7D.

I think if you swap them a few times they simply wear off and get loose. It's an issue with all SLR and the makers still haven't addressed the problem.

My 7D is much older, and I already feel my 5Dmark3 eyepiece seem bit lousy (compare to my 7D) when I just get it.

I feel you, unfortunately other cameras have the same issue. Maybe that part of the 7D is simply better designed and build compared to the 5D3.

I did not have this issue with the eyepiece. If you want a replacement can try using a Hoodman eyepiece. Much more comfortable and stays solidly attached.

My mk3 eye piece is loose too compared to my old mk2 just have to be more careful while using it tts all

Thanks everyone for the replies. Still unsure how my eyepiece came off without me realizing it. Maybe mine was a little loose.

Do you mean this one? H-EYEC22 for Canon 1D MARK III & 1DS MARK III MODELS-Hoodman Corporation.

Yes. There is just one thing to note, which is that a small part of the LCD screen near the VF will be obscured by the eyepiece. It didn't bother me, but it might be an issue for some. Possible to mitigate it by trimming the eyepiece I suppose.

Thanks for the recommendation. Just wondering does the eyepiece get in the way when you switch from shooting landscape (horizontal) to portrait (vertical)? I wouldn't want to keep turning the eyepiece when I switch orientation.
