Before you bring the Sigma down to the SC you might want to try fully charging the original battery and popping it into the camera with the 50mm just to be absolutely sure the issue lies with the sigma lens and not the LP-E6. Problem is you are using 3rd party battery now to test and the reading may not be accurate.

Orginal and 3rd party battery both have the same issue. Not battery issue.

where can one buy this hoodman eyepiece?

Got mine from TK Foto. There are 2 versions. 1 for eyeglass wearers and another for non eyeglass wearers. Price is around $29.

It does block the LCD but to be perfectly honest I really didn't feel it was such a deal breaker. What does it for me is that this cuts out alot of stray light and really lets you focus on what is in the viewfinder.

I have 1 problem with my camera..

It seems the focus is not accurate..

Im using a 28mm 1.8, 85mm 1.8, and 24-70 2.8

Will the focus move when u focus and recompose?

Another, still focus, it seems not accurate..
Is it lens or body problem?

The body and prime lens just bought few months ago..
24-70 is 2 years old..

Anyone can advice?

U use only the centre auto-focus point? Did u shoot with aperture wide open when using the "focus n recompose" way? (low f value).

When focus and recompose, there are chance that the distance from camera to subject change, so may end up "focusing" on other area.
If u use servo mode, it will sure change the focusing distance.

Try to do a proper focusing test to confirm is there a problem.

There are so many variables involved in your scenario that it would be very difficult to assess if anything is wrong. I would advise to do a proper focus test and see if focusing is accurate.

The 5D3/1DX AF is state-of-the-art. I may even go so far as to claim it's the best thing in the market right now.

Whether focus-recompose works or not depends on subject distance, aperture used etc. I have shot subject from a distance of 2 m using 50 f/1.4 lens wide-open using focus-recompose. No problem for me.

Have you heard of dot-tune AF tuning? Try it. It's simple and very accurate. Best thing: it's free.

Anyone got any tips to get rid of odours on camera and strap? ;p

I was shooting by the beach today and due to my own clumsiness, slipped and fell on some gooey algae on a rock. Thankfully I am fine and so is my gear :bsmilie: Unfortunately some of the yucky algae got onto my strap and I handled the camera a bit with my hands after that. So both smell like algae now

I would use baking soda and water. Wipe with a clean cloth. Even with a cleaning, the smell may stay for sometime but it will likely disappear after a while.
