Could it be the possibility of Canon recalling the existing units in the shops and doing a repair of the light leak problem (locally at the CSC), then replenishing the shops with these repaired units?

Canon used to release multiple fixes for 1D Mark III and they put colored stickes on the boxes... white dot, green dot, blue dot... end up resale value heavily depends on the color of your sticker.. "WTB blue-dot version" :dunno:

i saw a post for 5dm3 they put a white dot near the cf card slot to indicate the problem have been rectified for the leak issue.

Maybe, maybe not. Depending the stock level over there at Japan. If older batches still have stock, Canon JP will still give Canon SG older stock and this TK will still get older stock.

BTW, the person who bought the last few sets from TK last week is still the xxxxx1 series, although some already had xxxxx2 as serial number.

I bought e one with serial number xxxxx2 and i dont hv any problem with the light leek. Somehow they fix it already...

What's the darkest you used your mk3 to shoot in without a flash?
i'm not talking about ISO performance but AF performance..
Maybe i pushed the mk3 a little too much today..I was using it at a Chalet BBQ and i just could not get it to focus (one shot mode) using a 50mm f1.4…even at f1.4 and ISO25800, the camera would just keep hunting non stop..just couldn't focus and since i didn't bring a flash, i end up not being able to take any shots in focus..(because i went to MF but it was so dark i couldn't see)…maybe i was expecting too much from the camera?

went to tk photo during labour day..the boss says come back 3months later if you want new batch...

Which AF point were you using? The 61 pt AF or centre point focus and recompose?

Lack of light means lack of contrast. In that case most cameras will have a problem focusing not just the Mk 3

Anyone know if there is a quick way to erase all images from both the CF card and SD Card within the camera menu? The erase all images option only deleting from the CF card, and not the SD card. I have to manually format the SD card to erase the images.

Menu > Spanner icon (blue) > Erase images > Select Erase all from card.
