Hi,

I think you've missed out the most critical digit...
Don't think the two alphabets count...
What's the digit after the last "0"?

Hi,

Bro, this one is the "Warranty Reg. Number"
can show us the 'Serial Number", e:g: 012345xxxxxxx contains numeric only.

:) Thanks!

Stupid question. Has anyone tried contrast AF in live-view? I know, I know... all the excitement has revolved around the 61 phase contrast AF points, only a fool like me will try out contrast AF. :bsmilie: Anyway, I did that and was honestly shocked how fast it was. Even under super low light condition (1/50 sec, f/1.4, ISO 25,600), it would lock on at reasonably fast speeds. In good light, it's amazing. And all that was done on a silly lens with micro USM motors. Hmmm... if Canon's mirrorless cameras can offer similar contrast AF performance, I'll be very impressed.

The 5Dmk3 light leak fix has been revealed on another website with pictures…
It is really a black tap job :)
however, it seems like they only remove the top cover…not exposing the sensor…hmm..is it worth fixing?

it's a flawless camera now :)

So who is gonna send theirs in? My concern is the way the camera is handled to be honest. Perhaps my concerns are unfounded.

It seems only the top part is removed, but will dust get into the sensor?
But since the camera is within warranty, we have 15 months to decide.

what is the current price for kit and body alone?

Yesterday just got my 5D MK3 w kits $5350. Question => how to check the shutter count beside go CSC or using EOScount(Runtime error)?

So instead of just adding Canon 1.0 black tape outside, they just added it inside?

lol ... it would be good news for early adopter hahaha.... i will not go to csc just to open up in singapore and risk of been destroy by our local tech.

Haa, are our local techs that incompetent?
(Although I won't comment much about the counter staff who are not very technical)
So far they have done a good service to my previous lenses and body.

The choice to fix the light leak issue is up to the user, but if the job is well done, it will certainly affect the resale value of the body. (unless you intend to keep it for good)

TKfoto. Grab it with no regret. ;)

Ooo so what's yr serial number? Is it the one with the light leaked ones?

Does anyone know which places now sell those cameras which has the light leak issue fixed?

I won't be sending mine though. I really see no point to it.

Unless when selling later, the person requset me to fix it. It would be almost forgotten when mark 4 or what is released.

When you guys buy a 2nd hand 5D, do you ask about the mirror drop issue? I doubt many would ask and seriously lowball it by then.

If you haven't charged the battery you can go into menu and search under Battery Info. That gives you the shutter count albeit only as long as the battery has not been charged. Once charged it gets reset back to 0.

Use the EOScount.com. Press F5 repeatedly till script run properly.
