but I believe all went out of stock.. Alan Photo opened at 10:30am on Saturday, and the last kit set was dismantled and solded around 10:45am. :bsmilie:

TK sold their last 2 (or at least the 2 with the free thinktank free gifts) at about 7ish. But thats cos the person reserved them. I think other than the bigger stores selling at RRP, hard to find cheaper ones liaos.

So yeah I think this weekend I should see lots of fellow 5D3 users :D

It's not just the 5D3, many of the prices listed there for other Canon items are way below street prices as we know it. Well, you know the saying, "if it's too good to be true..."...

a very stupid question maybe...

any 5D3 owners here who also happen to own a 7D with BG-E7 care to try if the BG-E7 can fit / be used on the 5D3?

I tried to fit the 5D2 grip on 5D3, and it's a near miss haha...wondering since the 5D3 is similarly shaped to the 7D, maybe it can be used :p

well, if you proportion 253/30 x 100 = 843 shots

Yes, this is why I say my cam battery is quite ok. I mean 843 shots is quite close to the description on the 5D3 manual, though they mentioned one fully charged battery can last for about 950 shots under normal temperature. Correct me if I am wrong.

i batt likely not enough for travelling.
where to get good price at funan for 2nd batt? thanks

You could always get third party batteries.

can the HDR function be used to make up for lack of built-in flash under poor lighting conditions indoor?

TK Foto's interest list (choose the first one for 5dmk3 body)
Cheers!

Go to their website and it's the last item in the menu

don't think i will dare to take the risk for this camera.
all my 2nd batts for my P&Ss and crop DSLR are 3rd party one though. haha

why not hehe...my 5D2 lived on 2 original and 1 3rd party spare too.

I presume the higher battery usage reported by bros here might be due to us playing with the menu, reviewing and salivating at the gorgeous screen.

Once we are familiar with the camera, hit the road and shoot normally, it should be fine. :)

most likely. I spend quite a significant amount of time exploring the "new OS" than shooting anything.. haha!

Haha me too. But i'm using my old LP-E6 on my 5D3 so that I can prolong the life of the new battery. Thus the lousier battery life.

New 5DmkIII user reporting in. Upgraded from a 50D.
Got it on the 16th from Paris Silk.
No regrets over the price. I believe in either early or late adoption of technology. This time, I chose the former.
In any case, I highly doubt that Canon will scr3w early adopters over and drop the RRP too drastically over the next 1-1.5 years.

I do mostly street/candid and a little sports. The great high ISO performance is just what I needed.
Currently using it mostly with my 24-70 f2.8 and a 24mm f1.4. Have a Samyang 85mm f1.4 on the way to try my hand at portraits.
