I am wondering now probably < 5 in clubsnap have 5dmk3 now right. Why u all so special ? U work in canon is it?

There surely must be more!!! Come out you people!!! Make me drool.... :P

5D3 at ISO 12,800 in dim light. 135mm at F2. 100% crop may not be pin sharp, but entire image looks very usable in low light levels

you can see from the 100% crop that the light in my living room was switched off, with the light in by dining room on only. dining room light is 10 metres away from my cat.

with the 5D2, the max iso i wld go was 3200, now with the mark 3, perhaps even F4/5.6 lenses are perfectly useable in low light.

Great sample! Agree completely. ISO 12800 is very very usable. I managed to get good results too with the 70-300L (F4-5.6) in crap lighting.

where got less than 5 sia? prolly more have it and spending time to shoot, rather than surf CS.

I agree with tecnica, and ahboy.. I'd add a zero to your "5" about the people who has a clubsnap account that owns the mk3.. haha..

Yes! and for a slow lens like f/4-5.6, I find the AF speed in crap lighting/night satisfactory on mk3.

Really raised more possibilities on shooting conditions.

I covered an indoor event at iso8000 with a 24-105! Low light scenario. Really opens up new opportunities. Normally I would hunger for f2.8 for an extra stop, now the 24-105 is the new events lens for me.

I totally agree. In fact i'm using a cheap 70-300 Tamron lens and i even tried a 1.4x extender on it. On my 60D, it would not even focus at 300mm with the extender, but with the mk3, it does and does very well…except i would want to use the extender anyways :) It makes the image blur…

800? :o

/check battery
- 47%
- 213 shots

and no, I don't shoot live view :what:

Any other feedback about battery life??
Does the camera sucks a lot of battery?

After a few days use, should be able to gauge the battery life?

Then i must be "special" haha. Since i got my 5D on Mar15, i think i've taken <20 shots with it..i've not even brought it out of the house to take any photos yet hehe..super kiasu first night launch already go and get and yet never touched it for the next 5 days hehe other than to take it out of the dry box to clean and then put back and clean again and put back hehe

Don't get me wrong, it's not i dowan to go shoot..just no time and too tired and lazy to hehe..hopefully weekend i'll shoot something..I'm still kinda waiting for bloody Apple to support the RAW files in lightroom! I don't like shooting jpgs..

just to check... can this cam still focus with a F4 lens mounted with a 2X TC?... F8'ish aperture since its erm using 1DX AF...

No for AF.. Max f5.6 only.

You have to MF.

still need the 1D series bodies to AF?.. :(

I am basing on paper specs, so yes, get the 1D to AF at f8.0.

Or D800, Haha.

tides has changed. The last 1D body that can do AF at f/8 is 1D Mark IV. 1DX no longer can AF at aperture smaller than f/5.6.

This is financial very dangerous.
There are many people doing that for iPhone and iPad as well.
I also hear that PR doing that for a few credit cards, then bye bye return to their own country without paying ...

I can also confirm that quite a lot of FT also have received a lot of the Pink letter........... Who suffers for these bad debts???

This is living dangerously.... and someone have to pay for it......

Does sound like Singapore company have to pick up these rotten debts.....

According to The-Digital-Picture.com, the 1DX will not AF at apertures >5.6.

"First, the new Canon EOS 1D X, unlike previous 1-Series DSLRs, will not autofocus when using lenses or lens combinations with an f/8 max aperture. Chuck Westfall (Canon USA), through Arthur Morris, confirms this: "AF is unavailable on the EOS-1D X if the maximum aperture reported to the camera through the electronic lens mount is smaller than f/5.6."

This is of course disappointing to many extender users. Canon does not currently have a bare lens with a max aperture narrower than f/5.6, but adding a 1.4x extender to an f/5.6 max aperture lens results in an f/8 max aperture lens that will no longer AF. And, adding a 2x extender to an f/4 max aperture lens results in an f/8 max aperture lens that again will not AF."
