yeah.. I was thinking of going to marina barrage to play with the cam in the evening.. dang it is still raining.. what a waste :(

No waste no waste. Go test its weather sealing capability.;p

Have been playing with my new toy this afternoon.. Everything is good, color, contrast and af was wonderful. But i was a 500d user, so the difference is heaven and earth for me. It will take more reviews and scrutiny from experience users to Tell the difference from 5dmkii. The internal HDR mode is usable. Glad to made the switch to FF.

You don't need to know the difference of 5D3 from 5D2... Just know that you've bought your dream camera and it's miles improvement from 550D.

Enjoy the camera and read less of the reviews already! :)

Psst.. Isn't all your lens weather-sealed? :p

No waste no waste. Go test its weather sealing capability.;p

But the person's belongings aren't :P

haha.. yeah it is weather-sealed, but I didn't buy 5D3 for the weather seal and really want to subject it to the weather unnecessary :bsmilie:

and yes.. the system is weather-sealed but I am not, nor my belongings :bsmilie:

NO GUTS NO GLORY. Also, it would be hilarious when CSC's first customer tomorrow is a 5D MkIII with failed weather sealing.

:bsmilie:

THAT would really make it into all kinds of tech review websites and magazine..

"CANON CRISIS - FAILED WEATHER SEALING FOR NEWLY LAUNCHED 5D MARK III"

:bsmilie:

Same here... wanted to go shoot the i light marina bay thingy but while i don;t doubt my gear's weather sealing, the user is not and I always tio flu easily.

That imho would be the talk of the year!

Hello? What's wrong with u guys? The real reason for mk3 is really video, that's what the international community is really interested in. It's only 1Mp higher than mk2, might as well get D800 for stills, a whopping 36Mp!

Honestly, I had originally wanted to sell my canon stuff and go nikon because the 36mp sounds really good. It should be fantastic for what I do-toy parts and macro. Just imagine having 36mp of a butterfly or dragonfly:lovegrin: Can't imagine the amount of detail that can be captured. Price is right too, at least expected to be. Of course getting use to the nikon user interface is one hurdle I expect.

The official sample of the library shots were absolutely fantastic. BUT my heart broke when I saw this sample from nikon...

Look at the grain in the background and the water. It was only iso320 and is an official sample prepared by nikon, which means that it will probably be much worse in my hands.

Edit:In case anyone don't know the library shots from nikon...

I can only set 3 shots for in-cam HDR, how to set for 9 shots HDR?

Bro, you can refer to manual Pg.177 - 180 which show you how to capture multiple exposure up to 9 shots.

CYRN was referring to how to set 9 shots HDR. The 9 shots mentioned in the manual is for multiple exposures mode.

Okay. Under custom function 1, you can set the no. of bracketed shots that you prefer.
Means you can capture up to 7 shots HDR.

Thanks! Will try it next weekend. :)

1. HDR is fixed at 3 exposures (can't change)

2. Multiple Exposure can select from 2-9 shots to combine. Can even select the first one from existing shot taken.

3. AEB can select 2,3,5 or 7 exposures.

So sorry to hijack this thread, but may I ask all those who bought/tested 5dmk3 if the AF is as good as advertised? it would be a great plus if the 61-point AF is really as accurate and constant as they say it is. :)

Anyone care to share?

Thanks in advance!
