Wah lau, why so snob? So high and mighty meh? Only certain ppl can enjoy ah? The rest not worthy izit? You must be those "Wow, nice bokeh!" type. :nono:

i would like to apologise if u got it the wrong way. i mean no offence. i really do miss my 50D plus some lenses. yes i'm that kinda geek who goes "wow, nice bokeh". i admit. but that's me. relax ya? im a lousy photographer myself, maybe more of a gear nut. but i dun see why wld it be snobbish. i really DO miss my 50D + some lenses. =( certain ppl can enjoy? i think u misunderstand me dude...wad i meant is really I MISS 50D. that's all. the rest not worthy? if got money why not worthy? -_- chill la. i think u seriously misunderstand wad i'm saying.

Soons and zonal...thanks for understanding. yeah i dun mean any harm or whatsoever. just speaking my mind. was damn emotional today cuz i had second thoughts on selling my first DSLR. and when i sold it i was really damn sian.

hey bros, i just realised something. pixel peeping at 50% of a shot taken with my 550D + 18-55 is damn sharp. if i'm not wrong, or my eyesight not screwed up tonight...it's as sharp as 15-85 in the center. my previous kit lens w/ my 50D was so horrible, didn't produce such results. i wonder if it because my previous 18-55 was a bad copy or the 50D can't resolve an image as well as the 550D. i'm impressed with that humble kit lens. =D

Remember to get the Extended Picture Style files for those new EOS 550D as there is only 6 normal Picture Style by default. ;)

Normal Picture Style on every EOS - Standard, Portrait, Landscape, Neutral, Faithful and Monochrome.

Extended Picture Style - Studio Portrait, Snapshot Portrait, Nostalgia, Clear, Twilight, Emerald and Autumn Hues

Not Enough? Canon have released the Extended Picture Style for every EOS. Read the article below on how and where to get them into your beloved camera. Apparently, you can actually upload them into the camera using the EOS Utility. Check them out and you never know when you need them when taking outdoor shooting.

thanks for the guide! did you guys download these styles?

Yes, mate. We actually tried out all the styles. You can click on the comparison images to enlarge them and review on their sharpness, contrast, saturation and color tone.

It took us some time to get it done. We just wanted to help everyone in understanding them. Hopefully, this article is useful enough that we can share around with others. ;)

folks, sorry for being such a noob but after downloading these new picture styles, i have no idea how to access them on my camera???

Congrats man...70-300mm IS USM is a very good lens. Image Quality is almost "L" quality. It is only slower Aperture, MicroUSM, non-weather sealing and missing Fluorite element made it didn't achieve the L status.

just exchanged the 70-300mm IS III USM lens to EF-S55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS lens...trying it out soon..

Please Do.. compair the 550D with the 500D... in terms of photo quality and iso and video capability ? thanks...

I'm not intentionally being a bugger, but RTFM.

In the time it took for someone to reply to you here, you could have referred to the manual and used the new skill you've learnt.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd say the same thing to you.

I did indeed find the answer in the manual.

It did not, however, explain how to add on more than 3 user defined pre-sets, any insight as to how to do this?

Thanks

I called TK this afternoon, they said the original battery is $85 (the $60 like someone mentioned here is wrongly quoted).

:(

The-digital-picture has a very good 550D vs 50D vs 500D vs 7D vs 5DMKII ISO noise comparison.

Why did u exchange? What is the top-up u have received?

Hi guys,
Just a quick update: I finally decided to buy the 15-85mm lens from JO this week. It's a great lens! It's also relatively heavy; but having tried my friend's 24-70mm L lens, I must say it's really not that so. (Maybe I'm just used to using the kit lens or 50mm 1.8.)

Today I went to the complimentary DSLR training by Canon.

I also took some pictures at Vivo City afterwards. Cropping most of these images, I am amazed at the quality even at zoom.

C&C are welcome. Disclaimer though- I'm a noob!

Hi there, tracing a few threads back and I suspect he is referring to EF75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM (without the IS)

hell yeah, the 15-85 rocks on the 550D. f3.5-5.6 means nothing. we can go high ISO with no worries! =) i'm saving up to get either that or the 70-200 f/4 IS
