Haha I am a dumb person. Cannot even apply simple inequality of integer. You are right, I should buy from MS instead.

Btw, anyone know the movie crop is 7.2X has already taken in consideration the 1.6X of the smaller sensor?

Also, If I put a 85mm f1.4 lens and apply movie crop, will I get 600mm f1.4? It is a dream as we can capture sports without using those 600mm f5.6 which cost thousands and not even as fast as this 600mm f1.4.

The amount of background blur will not be the same. Movie crop mode will be similar to video recording on a digital camera.
My S5 IS has 72mm F3.5, which multiplies to 650mm with I use it with a 1.5x teleconverter.

It is some sort similar, just that 550d will let the user interchange lens. I google S5 and sure it look powerful.

do u guys use the video function often on the 550D? im damn tempted by video...but i cant bear to leave the solid build of the 50D. sighs...

i do! i use the 50mm f/1.8 lens with manual focus. i set it at only 1080x24p so it's film-like. it's looks very nice! i seldom use my (canon) HD camcorder anymore

OMG so tempting. bro, u use wad program to edit the videos?

As 550d is not built for purely videography, will its lack of IS greatly affects the video when handheld? For example, those camcorder has stabilizer

Yes. Especially if u use the 7.2x crop.

Solution? Get an IS lens, monopod, DVcam stabilizer.

Shooting video is 1 thing, editing video is another. lolx

And 1 thing, I notice that ur PC space runs out extremely quick after I got 550D and kept bringing the camera to work everyday... anyone faces the same issue?

for the meantime i am using iMovie, but i'm looking forward to use FCE soon. (this is the same software i use for editing videos from my camcorder.)

i found this video in youtube. you be the judge. in my opinion it offers better handling because of its weight. as compared to my hd camcorder which is much lighter.

yeah! i find video editing much more cumbersome than photo post processing. but yeah, it gobbles up a lot of space because it uses high video bitrate. (is there a way to change this? i obviously haven't read the entire manual yet!)

Morning, on the way to work. Legs were heavy, last night slept pretty late due to exam revision. Met the usual cat at the playground in the morning.
Lens: Canon 10-22mm USM, ISO100, F3.5, 1/400, 10mm, live view AF.
9.04am... OH NO! LATE FOR WORK!!! *Start running*

f211f3cc.jpg

Late at night, dragging my feet home yet after another round of intensive revision for this saturday's exam.
Saw this bus approaching. Camera in hand, and *snap*
Lens: 50mm F1.8, ISO5000, F2.2, 1/60, 50mm, AV +1/3, Centre point AF one shot continuous
11.34pm... Sigh....

Both pictures EXIF info intact.

nice photos! colors definitely better than 50D. sharper too. one thing great abt the xxxD series is that its small enough to lug ard everywhere. nice! i wonder if can use adobe premiere pro to edit. but then my computer is slow and dying. i think for the moment i won't edit my videos...just save it as clips and burn it on the dvd along with photos. haha!

A lowepro FastPack250 Backpack. Where I can put my textbooks in the bag also.
When shooting events, I load 2 DSLRs into this bag.
