Hi. Questions from me once again. Haha. I am sure some of us here will use Photoshop to pp our raws, but I discovered that the saved Photoshop files are 3-4x bigger than my raw. Is that normal? If so, is it really usefully to save it after we have processed the jpeg files?

I can find something similar regarding the Infra Red remote, at only $8. Ben Photo at Peninsula sells it. Brand if I'm not wrong is Jesson Multi Brand Remote.

bag is so vague, depends on how much equipment you are carrying and for what kinda purpose...

yes it allows us to do bulb mode shooting too.

kinda stupid question to me since almost all accessories shops do sells this.. even in mass sales .. basic nikon cleaning kit cost maybe around $12 only ??

Hi all,

Noted a lot of bros using Tamron 17-55mm f2.8 lens, how is it compare with Canon 17-55mm f2.8 lens or even 24-70mm.

Had read a few thread but would like to know if 550D has "3rd party" issue. I noted that if I use canon lens, no front/back focus issue but not for 3rd party lens.

its not bad, yeah but it does have some back and forth issues at times. thats the drawback as its cheaper compared to canon bah...

well, if don' bother by it, it still takes great picture. just that in indoor, better set to manual, as it can be quite noisy. Well, but compared to the cheap skate kit lens, its defintely much more better. for Bros who are damn rich, of couse they should go for the original bah.

Sighs...I kept trying to use my LX 3 to take shoots of my daughter but it seems that it is unable to handle fast moving objects...I just thought that perhaps with 550's faster shutter speed and higher ISO, I'll be able to take better pictures of her.

LX3, like most point & shoots, probably doesn't use the phase-detection autofocus that DSLRs use, rather it uses the slower contrast-detection autofocus.

i don't think the faster shutter speed / higher ISO of 550D is the major issue - the LX3's f/2 lens at ISO 800 would have the same shutter speed as the 550D + f/2.8 lens at ISO 1600 (and you'll be at a worse shutter speed / ISO with a 550D + f/3.5 lens). for fast moving objects, try using a half-press to lock the autofocus on a nearby stationary object of the same distance, then press the shutter fully (alternatively, use manual focus, increasing depth of field as necessary by stopping down the aperture)... even DSLR users sometimes need to do this too.

17-50 since it's tamron? Guess typo or else he misunderstood the focal length which many ppl do as the difference isn't big.

I really need help for i am in a total loss.I bn asking many ppl for advice bt nothing concrete in help
I really hope some one will help!!!

I do a lot of wedding/birthdays/people/make over/street/potrait shots.Bt I aint there yet and i need guidance my fellow clickers.

1)What wld be a gd flash?I read that flashes are gd for people shooting.Skin turns out smoother.Esp i get chances to shoot for weddings and bdays.
2)Nissin or Emoblitz?

2)Are third party battery grips safe in the long run?

3)What lens shd i invest in?My budget stays abt 500 per lens.So not much for the moment?
I am trying to achieve sharp and vivid pics.#rd party also can.

Good Flash ? Go for Canon 580EXii, else a Nissin Di866 will be good too !

2)Are third party battery grips safe in the long run?
Difference is the quality. In long run, rubbers start to peel off faster compared to Originals

3)What lens shd i invest in?My budget stays abt 500 per lens.So not much for the moment?
I am trying to achieve sharp and vivid pics.#rd party also can.

For events you would'nt wanna shoot with a prime lens, a 17-50 f2.8 will be good as 17mm is wide enough for group shots and you have the zoom to capture moments.

4)What filters are gd for people shooting?
I use B+W UV Haze F pro for all my lenses, and a ND110 for landscape shooting. B+W for the way !

All flashes are good.Decide on your budget and start listing those that you're interested in and do some basic research.

2)Nissin or Emoblitz?

Do consider your budget also.Nissin and Yongnuo are 2 common 3rd party brands...

Since you shoot wedding/streets,what you need is a basic walkabout f2.8 lens.Try the Canon 17-55 f2.8 or Tamron 17-50 f2.8

You mean shooting people(candid) or people use for shooting?Anyway a basic UV from Hoya/Tokina will do.
