Hi,

Can any 550D user advise why my camera doesn't have the following HD movie setting?
1. 1920x1080, 30p (only 25p/24p available)
2. 1280x720, 60p (only 50p available)

I'm using 8gb Kingston SDHC (class 4)

Thanks in advance!

Hi, new 550D user with Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 reporting!

hmmm...actually i quite like the 85mm f1.8 prime now. it really take verynice shots...its just i have to position very carefully when taking the pics. and due to the focal length, the bokeh effect is actually as good too compared to 50mm f1.4...guess i will just buy 50mm f1.8 cheapo lens to compensate instead loh... hehe

i am using tamron 17-50mm f2.8 without VC too, may i ask is it really that bad without VC??

no its not very bad... VC wasn't included in lens in the past... they managed...

not saying that we don't need it, in fact it helps.. but without it, its not going to be the sky falling down...

after using IS lenses for so long, i find that lenses without IS are actually quite hard to use cos i cannot shoot at a shutterspeed below the required shuttersped (1/focal length).. That said, the VC version of the tamron lens is actually quite disappointing..
