Official Canon 550D User Thread Part II

i know i'm abit late. but i'm getting the battery grip. i've leaning towards canon 1.

anyone can tell me the pros and cons between phottix 1 (which i see many have) and canon 1. price not a concern, build and quality is what matters.

It does a review with a side by side comparison to the original Canon BG-E8 battery grip with Photti BP-550.

Personally, why I bought 3rd party product mainly because of $$$. Many a time, after using a product for a while, I will "upgrade" and notices that I actually spend a lot on those original accessories where other 3rd parties function the same.

I have a original canon battery grip.. the reason why i go for original is not because of the grip.. but because the grip tags the connecting point.. so to me.. anything gotta do with electricity battery have to be original !

Actually contact point of original BG from canon is also known to have issue too. But of coz Canon's built is better than the 3rd party.

Canon body is made in Japan, Canon lens is made in Japan, some of them in Malaysia.
Nikon body is made in Thailand, Nikor lens is made in China, some of them in Japan.

" Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II " ALL is made in Malaysia. With online 1 year warranty.

I got mine with Alan Photo because I know the boss there, so he can give me better prices.

Soon Canon products will made in Thailand and Malaysia or even China soon.. I guess this is tow lower the cost and made their cameras cheaper for everyone..

well that sux... but then again if all these countries make dslr then what does japan make? cars? thailand is making cars for toyota too lol

I think the next market player in the camera industry will be China. Like China bought over Volvo. Soon, they will come up with their own Camera make and lens.. but I guess this is for the future. My friend in China bought a Nissan Fairlady which she paid half the price of the SG's price, not talking about COE, cos you know why ? THE CAR IS MANUFACTURED IN CHINA !:bsmilie::bsmilie:

if china can stop making cadmium tainted jewelery and melamine tainted milk i'd be happy to use their plastic/magnesium alloy cameras (reason why i specified the material is cos i dun wanna hold a dslr made of uranium or polonium...)

Is there a compatible single hook which can fit into on the 2 lens which are 58mm and 52mm in diameter respectively? And what are the average pricing for lens hook?
