by the way, those are ebay website. Do you have to wait for the bid to be over before they confirm the deal?

If there's a buy now price, you can pay that to get the deal immediately. If not, the winner is confirmed when the auction is over.

Hi all!

I've finally joined the club with my own 550D. Will be looking forward to receiving more tips, help and advices on this forum in the future. :]

For now, I just need help deciding between the Canon 270EX Speedlite and the Nissin D622. :P

Welcome to the club.

Was reading and noted that Canon 270EX Speedlite is not "powerful" enough.. anyone care to comment?

I bought my EF50mm f/1.8 at Alan Photo. They quoted me $118 inclusive of GST. Cheapest from what I can see.

Then I went to get my Tokina 52mm UV Filter at Orient Photo at $12.

If you want cheaper filter, you can get Sun Blitz Filter for like $8 ?

I asked for EF50mm f/1.8 II and Alan Photo quote me S$120 without GST lei....

Wow that's a good deal. I just got mine from ebay at $127 :)

BG was $97, LP-E8 at $15 each. Can't wait to receive it

U also ordered? From where? eBay too heehee?

Can't wait to receive it too...

Some are buy now price, so not need to wait to bid is over. But usually, there are some which need to be bid and are usually slightly cheaper.

I choose those bid one and so it is more cheap. Surf here for the deal if u r interested

270EX is for macro work.If you want more power get 430EX and above:)

Noted. I was offered a very competitive price for the Nissin Di622 at TK Foto today. But after some thought, still went for the 270EX in the end. It may not be as powerful or versatile as the Di622. But I figured since I'm still new to it all, I might as well stick to something simple that meets my requirements without over-reaching for a flash that i might not put to good use. Besides, what I really want is the compactness and (limited)bounce capability of the 270EX. Maybe next time if I need, I'll get sthg better.

Hope I didn't make a mistake.. :P

i know i'm abit late. but i'm getting the battery grip. i've leaning towards canon 1.

anyone can tell me the pros and cons between phottix 1 (which i see many have) and canon 1. price not a concern, build and quality is what matters.

I have a original canon battery grip.. the reason why i go for original is not because of the grip.. but because the grip tags the connecting point.. so to me.. anything gotta do with electricity battery have to be original !

okie. thanks. then why ur flash dun original. ahha.
