I was wishing for something like the Sony A7.. was wondering whether Nikon got it right with the "Nikon 1" system before I stepped in.. since I don't keep changing cameras so often, and I am ok with buying 1 camera every 3-4 years.. that time is slowly slowly coming.. but if I can fit my lenses on the A7 then why not (+/- add a couple of rangefinder lenses?)..?? Maybe Nikon will release "Nikon 1 - version Big" one day in order to fill that space.. but lets be clear, Sony has changed (up-ed) the game in my opinion..
Buying the A7 right now? Absolutely NOT.. wait for it to come out, let the issues with it surface, price to go down a bit, Sony having to deal/resolve with the issues etc. etc... maybe in 6 months.. not in a hurry.. I might even wish for a D600 for $1,300 (? or less) when the D610 hits the local stores in volumes and starts pushes everyone's "I want the new one, get rid of the old one" desire to "too hot to hold back"..... why not??

So a "retro" classic design, but not for manual focusing. Sony A7 is for me then.

So you see, those who want this camera, are not just want a camera, they want something more, some thing that you can not find in D4, D800/E or D600, so it is unfair to make such comparison.

If a retro looking leica m8 and m9 can do it, why not nikon.

Not good... The Df isn't retro enough. I see no reason why they left video out.

It's ugly but I don't think the design is important. I was just hoping for a more simplified body. The only good thing about this Frankenstein might be the sensor.
