Sell to whom? THere are only 2 miserable lenses for that system so far. People following the NEX system would surely know by now that Sony will take their bloody ass time to release a decent lens system, if they ever do. And honestly, do you want to use the Alpha system lenses on the A7?

Why me? I never said I would buy an A7/r. Be assured there will be enough people buying them and most of them will never think about lenses until the day they realize the kit lens can't do it all. Anyway, because of the short flange distance you can use any lens from every other system. A-mount itself has all the lenses most people will ever need. In the end you can mount more lenses than on the Df even if it's manual focus only.

Sorry to say this... I am disappointed by Nikon DF. Same old sensor from D800(not a bad thing actually) similarly expensively priced and bulky body. No Video.
It's slightly smaller size will not really help it much since FF lens big and heavy. Egonomics will suffer.

I really don't see why I shld buy it over d800. The only reason why anyone would buy it is properly for looks I guess.

You get a 16MP sensor with more ISO headroom than either camera. What's the beef? Still on the Megapixel rat race?

Nada.. but in the same way that you have "condemned" (I know you didn't ) the "Megapixel rat race" one could claim the "more ISO headroom" rat race also.. when is high ISO, high enough? Ultimately I feel Nikon are selling "stylo" for a price (at $3,980 its very high in my opinion). Good / bad? for / against? it will all translate to sales..

as for Sony A7 lenses.. Sony?? Who's buying Sony lenses.. The short flange distance makes it a dream realised.. at 24MP its way more than enough.. But best to wait for the first batch of real world testing with real people putting it into use, before making purchases of course...

The trouble really is that the market for "adapted lenses" is actually ridiculously small and people are just deceiving themselves if they think their needs matter more than the majority.

Yes, it's probably really small but why does it matter? Sales will be good.

Honestly the DF is a true fan-boy camera or even a fashionista camera.
Speculated at the price of a D800. I would not even consider the camera.

The Df costs as much as a D800 in the US so it makes sense to expect the same pricing here. Whatever the D800 costs here now, expect the same price tag from the Df here.

I guess this camera will be heavily discounted next year.

I guess I am the other type of user - indifferent about the retro styling, not a Nikon fan, but simply looking for a cheaper, water-downed D4. But I guess I was asking for too much, because the 1/4000s max shutter, 39-point AF, and the price meant death to my hopes.
