Which one? Voigtlander Norton 58mm f/1.4 or Nikon Nikkor 50 mm F/1.2 ?
Nikon 1.2
My mad 50mm collection:

The front AFS lens is AFS 50mm f/1.4G, the rest are self evident.

You will have to excuse me from the Voiglander 58mm f/1.4 or the 40mm f/2. The minister does not want another normal lens in the house... :embrass:
Maybe those brands that are not famous.hw do you define normal lens le?.. hee

May I interpret that "The minister does not want normal lens (those brands that are not famous) in the house..."
as "The minister wants lens that brands are famous" ! Get AF-S NIKKOR 58MM F/1.4G LENS

Thanks.Lovely. The contrast in the last shot - was that done with flash? Must be or there was a bright source, judging from the shadows.
Yes. Although the 58mm focal length is more suitable for this kind of photography, ie pet portraits, compared to 40mm, the super shallow DOF at full frame is a killer at f/1.4. Differences in lighting conditions also made the 40mm shot looked much better.Frankly speaking, this cat photo taken by Voigtlander Ultron 40mm f/2 SL from your other post is much better:

Thanks.
Actually both were taken with bounced flash (testing out the SB-300 at the same time). I was trying to see how sharp the lens is wide opened at f/1.4 and it was already evening.
I have had good experience with the M-mount Voigtlander 50mm Nokton f/1.5 and I wanted to see if the 58mm Nokton performs similarly like in this pic by the former lens.
1/158s, f/1.5, 50mm, ISO 200
Think I need to try again under better / similar lighting conditions.
No lah. Where got so much money. Just the poor man's Leica... Epson R-D1sYou used CV 50 f/1.5 ?? Which camera body did you use for that image? Leica M9?![]()
