Official 600D Users Thread

Nt sure if sate to use 3rd battery for 600d.. Got any recommendation? Or all of u using the original batt??

I just bought the 600D! Got the basic 18-55 and 50mm f1.8 to learn. Very happy with my first few shots with a DSLR. Love the bokeh of 50mm f1.8 though it's a little rough. Will continue to practise. Now reading the user manual :D

U bought it from tk photo? Got free extra original battery?

Mind tk show some photos taken via 50mm.. I'm considering to buy the lens oso.. Tks

Was told the original batt for 600D cost $80, a third party would cost $30.

No free battery :(

There are plenty of sample photos of 50mm f1.8 online. Mine cannot make it leh. I bought it to practise prime lens shooting. It's $125 only :D

I got it at $1699. With free 8gb SDcard(class 6), battery, classic case, tripod & crumpler bag.

For e lens, saw a usm lens but was told by colleagues not worth it.

Guess i nd to pay Funan a visit soon.

Got a battery grip yesterday. Finally able to fully grip the body (including my last finger).

Amazed at e overall build & functionality with its xtra portrait's shutter button.

Just to share... I saw the exact crumpler bag (excluding the word canon) selling at $130 in the crumpler shop.

Feels so good that we got it free :)

Yupz. I collected mine already. Just need to register online for the warranty and show them the receipt. In fact I registered online in the csc itself.

Thanks. So it's the same 5MDB seen on YouTube, only difference it has 'Canon' badge? Same build? :)

I got the 5MDH from March IT fair, with the Canon and EOS words. Went to Crumpler shop and compare the material, seems like the Canon one has a better texture.

All the other new version Crumpler bags' (with the fabric logo) material seems like less quality compared to the old rubber logo. Cut cost maybe?

Hi, also a user of 600d now, upgrade from compact.

Trying to take some portrait or macro in night/dark setting, and the flash keeps popping out. Is there anyway to turn the flash off in those scene mode (eg. potrait, macro)?

Thanks.

Bro, this is because u are using the auto modes. Try to use P mode, or read up about how to use the AV mode.

You buy a DSLR to take better pictures, so If I were u, I will force myself not to use the auto modes from now on. It take some time but once you understand aperture, exposure, shutter speed etc, it will make the whole experience more enjoyable.

Hi, new member here and have been reading this forum for the past few days.
I just got my Canon 600D from TK Foto eariler today(i mean on sunday noon).
It's my first DSLR and i was using Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ35 previously.

I got these stuffs with a price of $1354,
600D with 18-55mm lens(Kit 1),
Lens workbook,
Canon crumpler bag(need to redeem),
Lens hood,
Screen protector,
Tripod(nikon SL 168),
8gb card,
Canon 50mm f/1.8 ($125)
Two UV filters ($15 each)

I have a question regarding the crumpler bag,
the person said that I'll need to redeem the bag from canon.
I did some research online and i found out that I'll need to print out the online warranty registration copy
so can i assume that all i need is my "online warranty registration copy" to redeem my crumpler bag?

Hi Frank,

I'm also a new user of 600D. I will be collecting the crumpler bag today at CSC. I think I will be printing a copy of the 'Warranty Details' page after I registered online. It's clearly stated my warranty has been extended by 3 months :)

Are we suppose to collect it at CSC or CDL?
the promotion on Canon's web said that gifts are redeem at CanonDigitalLab,
but then again. both are in the same building.

I'm not sure too. Maybe an old bird can shed some light or we can just ask our way :)
