icic MKII is weather sealed. guess that's another upgrade for MKII.

both are very different lense. what do u want to shoot?
if u are into landscape + portrait = 16-35mm (but u cannot do upclose shot with this lens without distortion problem)
if u are only into portrait = 24-70mm

Why should the 16-35 vignet? It was designed for FF. Anyway with the DPP software, you can remove reduce/remove vignetting if you are using a thick filter.

unlucky me! my 5DMKII went dead on me yesterday (sat) giving me an err 30 .... did a google search and found that there are many 5DMKII users ard the globe that faces the same problem as me due to a shutter manufacturing fault (my shutter count about 32K plus only)...
wonder if anyone face this error before? looks like i go to pay CSC a visit on Mon (lucky i bought extended warranty).

$300+ , am glad i purchased it haha... just sent in to Canon CSC yesterday, the technician say most probably shutter faulty. They will replace and this will be covered in my extended warranty.

think the shutter replacement itself cost $360.
plus labour cost etc... probably another $100+
dun scrimp on this extended warranty (but make sure u get the extended warranty from Canon not Harvey Norman!)
5DMKII is a good cam that will last u for at least the next 3-5 years (not those entry level XXXD that you probably will change after 1-2 years), unless u want to join the queue list of those waiting for the MK3 version. Then you may want to consider putting off your thoughts of buying 5DMKII now.

Probably have to research on how often does this thing happen
But if you have claimed this time, next time you can still claim, right, as long as still under period of extended warranty?

Do y'all have any advice for this? So I dropped my 5D mark II and the filter is broken. And now its shape (the filter's metal ring) is not round anymore so I can't take it out. I wonder if there's any other good servicing place apart from CSC that can check my camera thoroughly? thanks so much

try look for fatigue in this forum.

The same thing happened to me on my 400D two years back. Then I brought it to CSC and they did it for me FREE......... and on the spot (I only waited about 20mins ).:thumbsup:

this sounds quite bullshit. i have a friend who used to work with Canon and also know friends from there. The release date for next year is even a question mark from I know from him. And whats the rationale to release after Comax instead of during Comax? Isn't it better to do a public launch during Comax?
