Hi..whats the ideal price for a canon 5d mark II? Planning to buy it..any suggestions on the current price and places to get it from? I'm planning to check it out at the SITEX 2010..

I don't think you can get that at SITEX.
Street price should be around $3.2k
Second hand price should be $2.6k

The best place to buy is call all those reputable shop, compare price

Better don't buy at Sitex...look at what type of 5DII you can get there :bsmilie: (I don't mind the fps ;p)

Just switched from 1D2 to 5D2. Looking forward to getting to know my new tool and especially FF. Need to get reacquainted with my trusty old 35L & 135L at the new effective focal length.

BTW, paid HK$16,900 at wing shing in HK so prices are definitely coming down in anticipation of the 5D3 rumoured for next year.

same setup, i am using 35 & 135 as well. this two lens works just great on FF!

Hi just got this camera with 24-105mmkit lens. Know any third pArty lens like sigma or tamron that works well with this camera? I m looking at 70-200 or 300 . Don't need to have f2.8 kind coz will be heavy n expensive . Need one to go pack together for holidays . Thanks

actually 24-105 is sufficient enough... if u want a longer range of 70-200 and 70-300 just for a holiday trip... u may want to consider renting one instead unless u going to use this lens often.

From 7D to 5Dmk2 soon ...
but 7D selling to a close friend so still will be around
Love my 7D but as i love wide and tele and love backpacking and mt climbing
with 7D i need 10-22, 17-85 & 70-200 as 22-70 is to much of a gap ...
but 5Dmk2 i can just carry 17-40 & 70-200 and maybe grab d super light weight 50 if i want to.
that will be ideal weight to carry and to top dat up weather sealed for mt climbing (with d L lens)
another reason is to take portrait photo in my future 4 room living room (as i'm going to have a simple backdrop for simple photo-shoot) i will got more of my 50 and 70-200 due to i don't have to have to stand so far back.

Both cam are great with video as i'm a movie maker too... but after seeing the excellence job of 7D shooting in the dark i'm looking forward for 5dmk2 better iso handling.

Anyway i got good deal as i was on DL kinda saying good thing bout canon cam. :thumbsup:

Rumor or hope?

In any case, when III is released, the price will also be equally high to match the new model's features and recoup the R&D in the new model. So IMO, if you like what you are getting at this price, JUST DO IT! :bsmilie:

IMO, there's no better time to get the mkii but now. Of course if you have the cash to spend, no problem with getting the latest and the highest technology when it is released :lovegrin: Do give us a review on the iii when it's out yeah.
