hey you 5Dmk2-ers..
ived been contemplating of getting a 5Dmk2 because im a filmmaker and ived shot a few short films with the 5Dmk2 well apparently not mine hehe. Im a nikon user by the way and i own a D80 with a few lenses.. and im thinking of converting from nikon to canon for the 5dmk2.. i have a final project for my school coming up, shooting a documentary and the 5Dmk2 would be perfect to use. Issit worth if that i sell off my D80 with a few of the lenses and get myself a 5Dmk2? coz i want to shoot video and photography too. Any suggestions or advice?

I've the same issue with you.
I'm curently a D80 user, and have plans to upgrade my equipment. D80 no longer able to meet my needs anymore. Thought of getting a better Nikon camera but then the one and only model that has high megapixels is D3x but cost more than $10K.
Due to my limited budget, I guess I will most probably go for CAnon 5D Mark II.
Nikon D700 is as good as Canon 5D MKII, except D700 no video capability

Hi, i just got a 5dmkii bat 5 days ago. I enjoyed the body and when fix with 24-70 lens, its a little too heavy in weight.
1) Do you guys use batt grip for your cam?
2) Any website or program then going down to Canon to check shutter speed?

1) u should get a grip to balance the weight for you at the base but note that the grip itself (original) is 300+ gram
i am getting one soon cos after attaching the 580ex II with lens+cam, my top feels heavier and when i shoot in protrait, very cumbersome. 2) you can try this:

Just want to ask a question for my father in law who owns 5DMK2.
He is using a 430EX. When he took photos inside a ballroom the picture turns out to be orangish color for all the person that he took. Is there any setting that he should change? setting for flash and camera?
I still new to photography as such i cant help much.

check the white balance, most probably he set to auto. can try use 3200-3400k customised white balance to make the pictures looks 'cooler'.
