hi guys may I know wad firmware are u on? I've checked the canon.com.SG website and I can't find the firmware for 5D2... could only find for 5D.. are they using the same firmware?

I'm currently on 2.0.9

Yup 2.0.9 is the latest firmware.

85mm f1.8 shot at speed 125, f2 iso 400

I am suspecting this and I might be wrong.

my experience with 85mm f1.8 is very brief... i only used once on my previous 450D before i sold it off, then later i bought from someone here again to use on my 5DMKII and sold it off again. The reason cos i still find myself prefer the FOV of 135mm instead of 85mm.

ok back to your problem. i suspect that because on FF body, your photo gets wider then what you see when you shoot on crop... and probably for 85mm, the center (which is what u are getting on your crop) is brighter then the sides of your photo which darker (call it vignetting? since usually when u shoot wider aperture, vignetting will be more obvious). Also had to factor in the light condition (whether it matches the same light condition you shot on your crop vs FF), the settings (metering, aperture, ISO, shutter speed etc) you used.

hope you understand what I am trying to say.

Yes GGS protectors are pretty good. Have been using it on my bodies for many years already.

I just got my GGS protector recently and it's totally worth it! it's not really expensive and it kinda makes ur images look much nicer on ur LCD screen

Hi guys. Does anyone use ISO6400 for events such as AD Weddings? is it usable? cause I've tried... but can't help
but feel that the photos turns out too grainy.. in fact, I've never used anything more than iso1600.

In ur opinion what is the max iso the 5D2 is capable of, for delivering paid assignments?

ISO 6400 still quite usable for me. maybe u want to post your photos?

ISO 3200 still looks good to me. but i rarely shoot at 6400.

I dun haf any shots taken at iso6400 lolx. cause everytime I view it on my LCD I feel that it is crappy and will delete the image hahaaha

btw.. I heard that a 1D3 at H1 (iso6400) has better image quality than a 5D2 at 6400...

is this possible? cause 6400 is by right 5D2's max native iso. whereas for 1D3 u are pushing the limits alrdy at H1.

I have both and I can tell you that's untrue in any shooting circumstances.

I seldom shoot 1D3 at ISO 3200 unless desperate.

oh thx! haha i nearly thought of jumping ship to 1D3 because of that. and also for the high fps + AF points that really made me wanna get my hands on the 1D3

I always cap not more than 3200

what does Canadians know anyway! their CR1, CR2 whatever, blown out of water so many times with so many bodies and lenses! hahaha

They know a lot more than you think! Before making rude comments you should take a trip there (like I have) and you'll see that they are polite, open minded and very accepting of people from different lands and faiths.

You should also take a look at your English grammar and improve that too.
