Silas said:Yup, i know. But i'm referring to the current dollar value where i can buy a FF cam for the price of $1.4k (including BG as mentioned by Eleveninth). This is a big plus point for the 5D, a budget FF camera which is as good as it's successor in terms of being FF.
I'm so in love with it...i'm thinking of dumping my 50D so i dun have to be in a dilemma everytime i pack my bag for a birding session...LOL!!!

Silas said:i expected to see a 16-35mm or a 14mm in there but you don't have those...maybe you should dump your 17-40 and get a 16-35 or 14mm....muahahahaha!!!
to be exact the 5D is rated at 12.8 MP.

Canon does not have the 12-24 nor have any news of launching it, else I would've bought it. So I settle for Sigma's.
eleveninth said:ya i know they don't have the 12-24.
just sayin' i'm fine with the 1740 and waiting till canon comes up with a 12-24. ;D if they don't it's ok, anyway i did read about the patent for it on canon rumours.
edit: oops it should be the 14 - 24 patent. hehe
Even if canon produces the 14-24, I'll get it although it's 2mm more as compared to my 12-24.
eleveninth said:yeap..
i couldnt remember what length but i vaguely remember reading that post.. it's quite an old post sorry for the wrong info.
but it should be spot on, as the 70-200 IS II patent was in the same post. Just a matter of time i suppose?

My ideal FF camera is someting like 5D with 4" screen, 18 mp, 8fps, built in speed light transmitter & 100% view finder
raydio said:Snoweagle: How do you like your Sigma 12-24? Do you also own another wide angle like the 17-40 or 16-35? Do you use the 12-24 often? If so, for what application?
I am considering the Mark II of this lens. I tend to shoot a lot on the wide side and already own the 17-40 so I'm wondering if I really need the extra 5mm. I have a trip planned to Hong Kong in about 3 weeks and will check to see if it is available there.
I used to own the 17-40 before selling it for the 12-24 and so far I prefer it more than the 17-40 as to me, the 17-40 is still not wide enough. The 12-24 is my main walkaround lens and I usually use it to take buildings and cityscapes.
