Don't worry lah, CMOS sensor not so easy spoil one lah, otherwise there won't be so many people still owning older cameras.

That's why I say must take care of the camera properly.

If he is not a pro, then most likely he would have taken good care of it, mind you, it cost a bomb back then.......that's not to say pros dun take care of their gear, just that it will get slightly more abused.

Have you done the shutter check?

Haven yet. Going down soon!

Maybe can determine what kinda of user he/she is after I checked the shutter count.

Did the below photo with the 50mm f1.8 on 5D

I think I will stick to using it more for portrait. I need something wider for general purpose.

Notice the dot near the top left? :) The lens caught a little water as there was a light drizzle earlier. After cleaning, everything revert to normal....lucky me :D.

Must be Las Vegas right? I stayed right by the Luxor at the Excalibur when I visited LV some years ago! Nice photos BTW! It is a city that is worth going at least once in a lifetime.

my 5d recently reached its 10th k shutter =v=

Wow! That's still new!

i actually got it 2nd hand but it was at its 5th k

genuine 1st hand 5d owners who are still keeping em up to date are not much due to upgrade over the past 5 years =v=U|||

i believe most of us are 2nd+ owners or are seeking for used 5ds, correct me if im wrong >_>

Mine only 10+K, since mid 2007.

Wow that is really low and further more, you are the first owner.

If this goes on, I think you will not need to buy another DSLR for the next 15 years :bsmilie:

Hey,

Just sharing this so that future/new 5D owners know (i didn't know initially)...that 5D requires a software driver before EOS Utility can read/detect the camera when you hook it up to your PC. I really cracked my head and went crazy cos i thought that something was wrong with the camera when i couldn't get EOS Utitility to connect. I was trying to put in the additional picture styles..

After emailing Canon and clarifying with them, i found out that the 5D required a software driver and i received it via email...it worked perfectly after installing the software driver.

Having said this, i would like to share the driver with fellow 5D kakis and will not mind emailing you the driver should you need it. Do feel free to PM or sms me. If any body knows how to embed the file onto this thread (since its a 5D user thread) for others to download also can lah...but i dunno how to do it.

Hope this information was useful.

Go to your flickr account, click on the photo you want to upload here, click show all sizes. Then copy the link address.

Reply to this thread, using the advance option, then click add picture link. Then you are done.

Hope that helps :)
