Ah would like to join the 5D fray. Prior to migration from film to digital my system was the Contax with the Carl Zeiss lens. Did alot of research and finally
settled on the 5D using all my Zeiss lens thru adapters. A test shot with a rented 5D with CZ F4 200mm lens before buying a used 5D with 32+ shutter count.
Sent to CSC for health check and mirror fixed. The black spot in first pic was from the rented 5D.

But now am using a CZ N F3.5/5.6 28-80mm lens converted to Canon EF mount having full function with the 5D and loving every minute of it.

I dun love the 5D over the MK II as both have their plus points. The reason why i never upgrade cos there's no need for it and my 5D is still going strong after nearly 4 years.

ditto.

but i am looking forward to the mark3 particularly for the supposed increase in AF points. if still 9 forget it.

I may or may not upgrade to the speculated MK III as my 5D is still very usable. Perhaps will use until the entire life of the 5D and invest in lenses instead.

Great looking photos and a lovely looking model. I especially like the 2nd photo.

I love Zeiss optics and have been using them for years. If you ask me I would rather prefer a Nikon b'coz
my first cam was the Nikon F2. But since Zeiss lens could be used with the 5D and being FF that's why
I ended up with Canon. As for getting Canon lens not likely.

Ahhh My old faithful. No new camera can give you the same IQ as the 5D. Love it!

This will be the answer of all who have kept their 5D till now.

I once met a guy and he mentioned that he hates the orange tint of the RAW files when initially uploaded to PC, and he chose the 5DII because there is no such issue....to me, that is not an issue at all, because after PP, I totally forgot that there is such an issue in the first place. :)

I love 5d due to the orange feeling in real

Agree with u but some others feel that colour reproduction in the mark II isn't as gd as the mark I.

To each his own, as long the user is satisfied with what he/she has.

Anybody encountered your camera hanging/jamming when you snap many shots in quick succession or consecutively without using hi-continuous shooting? Like you keep snapping then suddenly the mirrors locks up and Err appears without any code. Got to turn it off then turn it on again to continue shooting. If don't turn it off then got to wait a while for it to unlock mirror then resume normal state.

Hohoho. Looking at your equipment list i think i know the problem. Kena before

Did it happen with the 100-400L?

Nope, it happened with my 24-70 (on the 5D around 99% of the time). Care to explain the problem?

Ah ok thats strange. I encountered the exact problem with a 100-400 L on my 5D and 1D2. Turned out the IS was faulty and any strong movements to the lens will cause the lens to fail, resulting in the err 01 with stuck mirror. Remedy is also as u've mentioned.

Suggest a trip to CSC for your cam lens. Never had an issue with 28-70 and my 5D though

Oh ok, but the thing is...the lens that was in use (EF24-70) doesn't have IS. Thanks for your explanation. I'll arrange for a trip to CSC but no hurry since the solution is quite simple when it happens.

Anybody else experienced this before?
