Official 5D User Thread - Part 2

This shot is stunningly beautiful! Great composition, colour, contrast and bokeh! Well taken! I am sure that people would be willing to pay money to buy this!

No camera in the world could do a better job than this. It truly is the person behind the camera that gets shots like this.

thank you Ray. glad that you like the photo. The lighting was very kind to me, providing enough light on the flower and yet do not cast the shadows of the greenhouse on the water. I can still remember myself doing that shot, leaning over the railings.

I was there also, in the end i went to watch movie.

u bought the lee filter set or just 1 gnd.

I got the GND set with holder and adapter.... Those shots by Stefan is inspiring.... and am starting to abuse my equipments.....

Today.... I think Zurichdo went birding (in the East this time) again.... sky seems to turn darker now...... (Just kidding only!!!! :bsmilie:)

While the bro is talking about the MKIII... need to ask the Bro of Classic..... had the D700.... but sold it recently.... partly due to no $$$ to get the 24-70 (which I use most)..... other than the 50mm...... now looking at Canon... 24-70 for canon is price more humanly... so considering the classic..... why not MKII.... cause will be short of $$$ to get the 24-70 again... another way forward is to get the 7D + 17-55...... but after one touch a FF..... hmm..... what you guys think..... built up the lenses and go for glory of MKIII next time OR better to just go for a newer 7D combination....

Bro I went from 5D classic to 7D and now I am back with 5D classic again. For me, this camera is magic. Not that the 7D is no good, but I just love all the photos that I printed with the 5Dc much much more than the pictures printed from my previous 7D. By the way, I take mostly portraits (my wife and 2 kids), and occasional events.

With the huge reduction in price of both the 5Dc and the 24-70, you can actually have a set at just over half the price of a new 5D3. If you ask me, I will go for it first and then save up to upgrade to the 5D3 later. You probably won't lose money on the 24-70, and maybe lose $100-$200 on the 5Dc by then. This $100-$200 will bring you unlimited joy during the period you save up for the new camera. That said, I will be buying the 5D3 also, but I won't stretched myself for it. I will save up till I am comfortable before buying :)

Thank bro for the advise..... in fact my usage very similar to you...... Potrait of family members and occasional event..... though the high ISO "might" not be up there with MKIII or MKII, but should still be okay till 1600/3200 rite??? That is the most I will go anyway... last time when I use D700....

Good thing is can keep 24-70 even after getting the MKIII in the far future.....

I did try an event once without flash at ISO 1600, it is fine if you do not need to print big prints. I normally use +1/3 or 2/3 EV on AV mode for such occasions. Oh, and that event was done solely on 24-70L only, no other lens involved. If you have a flash, I think there will not be any problem. :)

haaa okay bro..... my event no need print one... everything in CD and view in Computer.... save paper save the earth kind of reason.... that's good... my intention is just that... 24-70 whack the event... no time to chagne lens also.... but ya, will likely get flash to stand by.... and ya, now a days, I shoot in AV mode only...

I have both the 7D and 5D. In the past year, I have used only the 5D classic. The reason is because it fits my style of photography better... urban landscapes, portraits, architecture, etc. I have not been disappointed by the 5D... it is a great workhorse.

I dumped my 17-40 recently and bought at 35L on Tuesday to pair with my 5Dc. After playing with it at home, all i can say is that i'm eagerly waiting for a chance to head out and go shutter crazy....

The IQ, colours, contrast and out of focus background creaminess is simply FWAH!!! I tried the lens on my 7D too and the difference in colour reproduction between them is obvious. The images taken from the 5Dc has that certain closeness and realness to the actual scene versus that of the 7D.

With all the hype and excitement and reality of owning a 5D3 going on recently on Clubsnap....All i wana say is that i still love my 5Dc and it bloody rocks the world when paired with my new love, 35L
