also, when using su800, if there's another photographer beside me firing the flash, will it trigger off my 'off camera' sb800?

sounds good!;)

if u and him are set at the same channel and both are doing CLS then yes, he can trigger urs and u'll trigger his.

so su800 can control the wireless flash in a more 'convenient' way...right?

it can control how many groups?and how many flashes per group?

i only have a sb800 and sb26.does that justify in getting the su800?

4 Channels for SU-800
3 Groups. (this is the best part, there's no limit to the number of flashes in the group)

Advanced Wireless Lighting

I dun think it can control the SB-26 though.

If the other photog is using a wireless controller at the same channel. YES
If the other photog is just using the normal flash. NO

Aha... My fav topic...

Jeanie, you may want to look at some of my CLS pictures to see what you can do with multiple flashes! I'm yet to be a pro, still experimenting with it...

Here's what I have... :embrass:
- 2x SB-800 (usually one will be commander)
- 1x SB-600 (Remote only)
- Nikon D70s (if I make use all as remote)
- Colour Gel (http://www.nikon.com.sg/productitem.php?pid=863-063eca5b71)

Looking into getting EITHER ONE of the followings...
- SU-800 (http://www.nikon.com.sg/productitem.php?pid=828-3330fccebf)
- R1C1 (http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=242049) (then I can have up to 5 flashes to my firepower... ;p )

Just directly qouting myself...
Not too sure if the following pictures are good examples to show or not...

A single light will not be able to light up the whole vehicle... In this setup, 3 flashes have been deployed (different groups) plus one SB-800 as commander (total = 4) Sometimes, the flash behind does not fire... Hence wondering if SU-800 gives a "SURE FIRE" or not...

Same setup as above, just that I moved the light abit only... (To light up the model) If I attempt to use main flash to illuminate the model, the front part of the car gets overexposed...

#3
DSC_7257.jpg

Used D70s built-in flash to trigger... 2 flashes (red) and one on top with lightsphere (not seen) to lightup the top... Again, not sure fire everytime...

For this, I have to stay very low to get the flashes to trigger... Angle is not right already... (SB-800 as commander)

#5
DSC_6502.jpg

Similar setup as #4... The flashes are seen, but no choice... If not they don't fire...

Make your own "improvised" studio outside!

Make use of colour gel to create effects...

Use of the "hair light" will add more 3 dimensional feel to the hair...

If you don't like the lightings @ events, you can create your own!
