now i know why so many people are complaining about the outcome. :bsmilie:

hmmm...how do people relate to "unforgotten" when they have no titles??? :dunno: maybe its just me...

if u meant during judging, no titles are being displayed. so that in case an entry has a very good title, it wouldn't be a plus point to a not so good picture. it was up to the judges' interpretation of the theme.

if u meant the winning entries, we're still in the process of obtaining the titles from the authors. those who have not replied to us or are uncontactable will be "untitled" until we get the title from them.

anyway, a good picture doesn't need a title to describe it. ;)

YES Agreed, a picture speaks/decribe thousands and millions of words but since its a themed competition why not?. like i say maybe its just me but since you've said that the titles are still in the process, i can wait....but I never did say the winners dont give a good picture  ...i enjoyed/loved looking at them but i just cant relate to the unforgottenness......its just like a book with its themed front cover but no story line or nothing written inside. dont get me wrong or mistaken by my ideology...Its just me

This depends on the judges... not the organiser... if the judges LOVE a photo and forgot the theme, the organiser can't tell them off. The organisers can only "REMIND" them... but if the judges are firm on their stand of particular photos, as participants, we have to say 80% of a photo competition depends on luck... 20% on skill... when comes to your own photo shoot, 80% on your skill and 20% depends on luck

Luck on photo shoot- the moment arising, weather, right moment right time,etc...

More to follow if u take part in up coming photo competition...

gee... you r a winner yourself....... already my fingers typing...heh

it depends on luck as mention.... like 4D and Toto, got sure win meh??

photo competition is a play ground for photographers... 4D and Toto is for everyone.. but its legal for organisers to do anything so long as they pen down, furthermore they don't have to apply license like gambling...

so luck must be there to win... your photo may have not win competitions for years and different themes.... but if u find your photo is the best. keep using it for other photo competition where there is not time restriction like have to shoot from "when to when". One of these competition, your photo will stand out...

no point urging how good or weak the judges are, organiser no good.... but when the speaker are the judges, there are still people attending their talks... I guess i don't have to spell out the whole thing right?

Only the organisers for photo competition understand all this thing... participants who never organise photo competition before can tell u stories until cow come home... but the organsier cannot tell them off because they are "serving" the participants... they can only take in the bad comments...

I have encounter this before... as an outsider, I guess i have to voice for them even if i don't link up with them...

they can make majority happy but not everyone.... those who are happy won't voice up or lesser to voice up. but those who are unhappy will point them till the very last end to let themselves feels good...

this is like a life cycle... will sure to happen...

It's not the end of the world is it?

A competition is always a lottery.Although I have issues with the relevance of the judges' picks, it's still within the ambit of a competition. You can't always throw ideology all around the place 24/7.

So shoot more, and embrace your own vision.

what's been done has been done...
now chiong for seminar and exhibition.
get your tickets if you haven't done so
and see Willy Foo in action... *hint* *hint* :bsmilie:
and not forgetting Jeffery Yap, the pin-hole guy
and Bryan van Der Beek, the photo reporter.
