Some information that you might find relevant to your outing:
1. Ferry ride cost $2.50 one way. ($5 to and fro from the island). As said before, it takes 12 people to get the ferry to start.
2. Some buses that goes to Changi Village is 2, 59, 109... (I only know these)
3. If you are interested to go to Chek Jawa, besides walking and taking a bike, you can take a van (seat about 8-9 people each). It cost $2 per person for the ride to Chek Jawa.

Hi Lens Fidelity, thanks for the info!!! You joining us, no?

I am afraid I have to withdraw from this outing as well.. can't seem to recover fast enough from flu...
