Noob Streets

What happen to him? Toto miss by 1 number? :bsmilie:
Makes my day looking at this pic.

Erm... actually, this guy is physically disabled & he sells tissues on a motorised wheelchair.

Took this picture to show that there are still people around us in our everyday life.

Paisey for the insensitivity on my part.
Should have looked longer in the reflection of the wheel chair.

Nice series! Really inspired me to go even more into street photography. Sigh am still a noob now :( ! Anyway for shooting street photography its best to shoot in b/w mode?

great photographs! i enjoy every single one of them! this is nowhere near noob!
I hope i can learn from you someday, but doing street photography here is quite difficult, a lot of singaporeans are camera shy or too sensitive to the presence of camera..

Yes, i agree to that.. Most people are now quite sensitive if subjected to cameras.. But, that's the challenge of street, and i salute you for being one of the brave ones!

slightly off topic, but i agree. the elderly seem more willing to pose etc. and more interesting too. i guess the rest are just too afraid of STOMP.

but RWC good stuff! really like it. not noob at all. you're too modest.

Thanks. I can be quite intrusive with my camera at times I have to say.....

No choice, 35mm lens, if I don't go near, I wouldnt get good shots. My lenses choices are mostly 50mm & 35mm, I'm not a big fan of tele lenses for street, prefer to go wider & nearer. I like the close-ness of being to my "un-willing subjects". Personal sense of satisfaction.

Oh yea, I got chased by the police in Hanoi, Vietnam for take pictures of them

I find elderly people interesting subjects but they can get quite aggressive at times. I had an elderly man threw a bottle of rice wine at me before

Thanks bro, still learning la.

Got more stuff to experiment & try around so that I can have more of like my "personal signature" feel in future shots that can be recognised as mine by people. Now is kinda more like rojak......... ;)

one of my rare color shots....... A little late for a festive season shot but anway.....

Christmas 2010, Orchard Road. Swing dance performance with Johnny & Luna

Fuji Provia 400x pushed to 800
ZM Zeiss C Sonnar 50mm F1.5

The lens took the back lighting pretty well for this one without flaring I would say.

They realise I'm a foreigner..... So they just told me no picture firmly! haha! But when I went to the Ho Chi Ming Mausoleum, took pictures of police again, kena screamed at big time! haha

Pretty much could tell I was a foreigner there, everyone in Hanoi was wrapped up in Winter wear complete with scarfs, I was walking around in T-shirt & berms enjoying the cold

Haha! yeah, i forgot to mention the "unexpected greetings" from the local authorities as well.. but again, i think these are the things that make your photos and experience much more exciting, am i right?;) I'm not saying that we should challenge these people, but if we are lucky enough to get the photos, had some "encounters", and made it fine in the end, it will be something worth to tell our next generations! haha! just be careful!

Wow, that's awesome!!!!

lol! Locally I've shot our local men in blue arresting suspects at Holland Village but they didnt do anything to me as there was a huge crowd watching & also, a couple of weeks before that, SPH's photojournalist got handcuffed while shooting the flood!
