what? :dunno:

you need someone to circle out the out-of-place reflector for you? :dunno:

The point of this image is not the reflection. Or even the grain pattern on the skin.

And definitely not "messy hair"-- the favourite "comment" of a now-deregistered frequent commenter in this sub-forum.

do you know how to differentiate between these 2 words? "Reflector" and "Reflection". It means 2 different darn thing, and the bros are talking about the REFLECTOR at the bottom right hand corner..

Colors look fine to me? I think TS is not aiming for the conventional look. Just enjoy the pic lor. Lol

I think TS is just happy to try out his N lens ......... as thread title and pictures imply ........

Care to educate us on what is the point of this image? Reflector being caught in the frame is an example of bad framing and composition. Also, the top of the model's head is chopped off in the first picture. Not even talking about the gear, the framing is just bad.

Is the top chopped off? The point is to see how faces are rendered at F1? On film and without trying to make skin look smooth and fake?

nice lens and nice scanner

Maybe the TS should state what he expects from posting?
Does he want comments on the framing, or on the lens, or the film, or the composition…
Without specifying what he's trying to convey, we should assume anything or comment on things he wasn't looking out for in the first place?
Sp Xtol19, care to share what you are trying to convey to everyone with the photo so we know what to look out for and comment only on what you're looking out for?

let me try to guess here. I think he needs to chop off the top of the head so he can show us the reflector he was using....

Blown highlights, messy hair, inconsistent skin tone (dude, get a calibrated monitor and see for yourself), ... .... many things are just out. Do keep trying and learning, just like the rest of us.

Why people feel so compelled to comment?

Why people feel so compelled to comment?

I am not sure if I speak for the rest but the reason why we pointed out the flaws of the photo is not because we want to insult you or anything. Rather, we are just giving you tips on what to look out for in order to improve your photography. A good lens is one of the many factors when it comes to good portraiture.

Do note that 'Portraits and Poses' thread is meant to showcase your portraiture photography skills, not to tell the rest how good your lens is.

TS, if you are looking for comments on your gear then you shouldn't create the thread in "portraits & poses" but in "general tech talk" instead. This section are meant for photographers to showcase their works in portraits and people will comment on their composition, toning, PP etc etc. If you don't like us to criticize your composition then move the thread to somewhere else where other people can comment about your lovely N lens.

Eh, isn't that why people post their works in forums? If you're not looking for comments, then just keep the images private?
It's a "public" forum for a reason.

could it be a case of TS wanting to upload a pic then expect all the good comment such as "nice work...amazing lens etc etc" but what he wished for is back fire now?

We are all here to learn. Its a public forum and since you've decided to post. People will comment. Good or bad. Then its up to you whether to heed the advise or not. All the best!

There is a thread in the Rangefinder forum for you to post images taken with rangefinder cameras and lenses.

Posting here in Portraits and Poses, every one will assume you are inviting comments.

Not looking for comments on the lens.
