As an ex- owner of this lens, IMHO, its capable of much more than what was shown... no offence... My 2 cents is that next round before you shoot, maybe take a few steps back... the photo seems a little too tight for me personally... if given more space, you can showcase much more of the creamy bokeh around the model... by doing so will also sharpen up both eyes so u dont get a one eye sharp one eye blur look... ( i understand that was what you were looking for so its ok in this instance since u like it)...at F1, this lens is soft.. but thats the way it is so take advantage of it.... it is very capable to shoot beautiful dreamy images with lush colours.. it has "feeling" if used right....

In P&P do expect alot of comments and praises though. Noctilux is not a trivial name. Some OT from this,
in the world of hi end audio 'Noctilux is the Top Hi End Speaker from Bower & Wilkins (B&W) Britian top hifi speaker manufacturer. So when you mentioned Noctilux
bros here expect top notch quality pictures.

Understood but sadly that is the misconception, mainly because of the new 0.95. The classic f1 was never very sharp at f1, its reputation was built not on sharpness but on flare control. The top quality would come from low light pictures because it offered better ability to see into the shadows while resisting flare. In daylight, f1 can not compete with f2 or even f2.8 for sharpness.

if this is your intention, then better post this in the equipment discussion... you've posted it in the portraits subforum, people here would naturally be very vocal about the composition and overall impact of the portrait you are presenting, if your intention is to show how a portrait looks like with the rendering of the lens you used, this is not the place. and next time you post, if you don't want anybody to comment on your shots, just state it on the thread itself... "just to share, comments not welcome"

Seems like you're more obsessed with equipment than producing quality images. How about showing us examples of low light pictures with this lens instead of it's weakness in daylight?

Unique? Definitely NO. Messy? 100% YES.
this sounds more like equipment thread post now. i see hair on top in focus, the rest is nice and creamy as it should. maybe if you want to showcase nice out of focus effect then maybe you can just shoot your model with a nice field of flowers at the back and see all those interesting colors melt into something like water-color.

That's nice, at least you can see something others can't or won't. Just because someone no longer has interest in their kind of comments.

I think I need to change my monitor. The pictures taken by the Noctilux seems to be a tad blur. Apple Store here I come, again.
i was observing this thread for the last day or so, hoping that the discussion will come to some good sense.
to the TS - if you just want to post your pic to showcase your talent without considering comments in the future, kindly state in your thread. IMO, some very good advice is given here on how to improve.
to the rest - there is no one compelling you to comment. if you think it is not worth your effort, just go to other threads.
take a chill pill, people. there are better things to do then to bicker.
