'No Photography' Plz...

Yesterday, I went on top of an Industrial building near my house to take some pictures. This is the kind of multi-storey warehouse building.
Good view of my estate and neighbouring scenery.

Went to one secluded corner, setup my tripod, and start taking pics. Not long after a security guard cycle to me and asked me what I'm doing.
My defences immediately up! I told him I living nearby and just wanna take pictures of my estate. He replied it's private property and I can't do
that. I pissed off already, this place so messy and open, any Tom, Dick and Harry could walk in and out anytime cause there are literally hundreds
of businesses in the building.

But after retorting that I will leave if he wants me too, he told me I can stay but next time must seek permission. I think the only reason the
guard didn't went all out with me is because my gf is with me. Somehow having a female companion around will give you some extra points to
your defensive power. If I'm alone, I think we fight already :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

females are always deem less intimating. similarly, if you look 65 years old, they will also deem you less likely to pose any threat.

Just last month, I was scouting for some shooting location around a private estate and was chased by a german shepherd (IIRC) until it was called back by the owner or maid.

It got the "no photography" message into mine head extremly well.

If you had kept your finger on the shutter, and recorded the whole incident, you can lodge a poice report and report to the AVA as well as contact all the local press. There have been many incidences in the recent past where large/dangerous dogs were allowed deliberately or through negligence to attck others, and action was taken against the owners. It was all over the press.

lol.. i will be going to shoot the new mall the bugis next sat night. try long exp with the blinking blue lights. bugis security any issues? scared setup gear liao end up kena chased away.. waste trip there also

If u stand outside of their property boundary they have no legal right to stop u. And since it's not a protected building, u can shoot all u like.

Even if it is a protected building, it may not be illegal to take photographs of it when you are standing outside of the protected area demarcations.

mediacorp ma...big star....NOT:bsmilie:

If cannot take pictures of the 'celebrities', like that might as well ask them to stay at home.

But I think for Zoe Tay's case, it's maybe because too much wrinkles on her face now, so the assistant a bit protective :bsmilie: :bsmilie:
