anyone going to buy an only just for the 2x crop sensor? :bsmilie: Oly owners are probably smiling now.

i heard from a semi pro racer driver that the lighting will be brighter than those i had experience at the location infront of SCC during Chingay08. i shot Chingay with iso1000, f5.6, 1/60.

with f2.8 lenses should be ablr to get 1/250.

not sure if 1/250 can stop the car on the spot with wheels and all frozen.

below is point 54 in the faq.

54. Due to tight security and safety concerns the following items are prohibited and may not be brought into the circuit?
Alcohol, pets or animals except service animals (e.g. seeing eye dogs & police dogs), any item that could be used as a weapon, audio recorders, bicycles, scooters, skateboards and roller-blades/skates, camera tripods, monopods, telephoto camera lenses with a focal strength of greater than 200mm, video cameras and handy-cams, cans, chairs/stools, eskies & hampers, fireworks, Frisbees and helium balloons, glass (including bottles), large containers in excess of 1.25 litres, large flags, musical instruments and/or amplification equipment, prams and strollers (not permitted in seating areas), unauthorized advertising material or flyers, laser pointers, distress signals, whistles or loud hailers, dangerous goods and any other item prohibited by legislation. The items listed in this Clause are not exhaustive and a list of all prohibited items will be placed at the entrance to the Circuit Park and/or areas designated by SGPPL.

erm... does this means we can still bring our own bottled water in as long as it doesn't exceed 1.25 litres?

Please share with us how to become an official photographer.

1. Get temporary employment with a media company with F1 media accreditation.
2. Buy media accreditation from F1, US$10,000 per media for those not covering F1 on regular basis.

so ... :dunno:

their T&Cs are so stupid. on one hand, they say can bring container if the capacity do not exceed 1.25 litres.

then, on the other hand, they say Ticket Holders shall not bring food or beverages of any description into the Circuit (to avoid doubt).

to me, what doubt is there... if my container's capacity does not exceed 1.25 litres... then i'm fine. as a good citizen, i abide by this rule. then the other clause say i shall not bring food or beverage in. now i'm in doubt of whether can or cannot :dunno:

It says here "all telephoto camera lenses must have a focal strength(sic) of greater than 200mm". Unless this is a typo, your 24-70 isn't allowed into the circuit park!

The 24-70 is not a telephoto lens.

Maybe you can bring plain water.. beverages = sweet drinks? ;p

i had a gut feeling that this F1 will have a lot of confusion since it is the first time.

they say can bring container if the capacity do not exceed 1.25 litres, but never say it can be filled with anything like water...

i dun think this F1 is a nice thing to shoot unless u are a hired official photographer.

i guess.. i rather sleep at home or watch a movie.

why you guys suffering this of watching F1....save more money and travel to other country to watch.......will not get you blood boiling......

The nightrace F1 here in Singapore is not starting on the right foot with the fiasco when trying to buy the tickets.

Looking at the way the crowd control was handled during the Singapore Airshow I'm not sure how well will the planning be for the race. I'm sure that that the spin doctors will say sorry and it was their first time doing the F1 race if some things go south during the race.

I believe that there'll be no DSLR and water to be brought in during the F1 and they'll quote for security reason.

"9. Is photo taking allowed inside or during the race?
Only photos intended for home use may be shot within the Circuit Park. No images may be made for professional or for personal gain. All telephoto camera lenses must have a focal strength of greater than 200mm. Ordinary Ticket Holders must not bring into or use within the Circuit Park any professional video cameras, handy cams or tripod equipment. The Promoter reserves the right to remove any photographic or video equipment at any time." - Their FAQ.
