I was just toying with ideas,

Supposingly if Sony release a DSLR Fullframe, 8fps, 16mp, ISO3200 as good as ISO800 on 7D, however, no Anti-Shake and price around $4000...

Will you buy it?

I will probably say yes to this... but like to see if anyone will be interested? or AS is so important that no one will consider buying one without it?

If I got the money
$ony probably would ask that for S$5-6000.

yup although that would blow a big chunk off my annual budget on toys hee... ;)

nope. wun buy it. full frame is an overkill(to me). i rate AS much more important and practical in what i am doing. but if the price is really darn low, then that will be another case.
7D is a good cam already. all it needs is a higher sensor + an antidust toy + better SSS mechanisim(like the pentax K10D.) + better AF mechanism. hmmm.......quite alot actually. if have weather sealing of course even better, but not really a must-have. and of course, a price which is competitive, unlike the KM7D's price when it was first released.

Yes! (dissapointment) A BIG one in fact. I don't carry tripods! Haha!

Nope...too spoilt by AS now. They can't take back what we have tasted before.:bsmilie:

nope.. wun buy...

If really got FF dslr without AS....Imagine what would Sony SSS Lens cost like!!! .. considering Sony/minolta non-as premium lens cost almost as much.. if not more.. than C n N's IS/VR lens.... hai.. dun wanna think.. hai..

Cannot condone them.. hahahah :bsmilie:

Will miss AS, but not so much as full frame and better flash performance like the old minolta flash performance on film, which was excellent.

Don't think they will not put AS on D9D. It has become their selling point. It will be a huge black mark on them if their flagship cam don't have AS. Probably this is what that is halting them from introducing the D9D yet. It is still an engineering feat to creat AS in a full frame sensor. There was this interview by KM's chairman to some magazine last year after D7D was launched.

if ISO3200 perform like 800 on 7D, maybe dont need AS. In fact, AS is not relevant at higher speed.

that's what i thought at first. then i think about it some more... actually sometimes i like taking shots at slow shutter speed to get motion blur, in which case AS is useful.

good high iso performance and AS are both useful in their own way...

i rely so much on the camera's AS that i dunno how to do without one :sweatsm:

AS most impt to me... can't really accept ISO800 on 7D if I really nit-pick... think most canon and nikon users will not give up IS/VR for ISO3200 that looks like ISO800...

resolution impt for post process cropping...

Full frame not that impt now we have the 11-18mms in the mrkt, doesn't hurt that most lenses out there are sharpest at the centre...

My personal ranking would be:
AS
Resolution
ISO sensitivity
FPS
Fullframe

Interesting...

To me ISO performance and AF performance will rank right on the top. AS or not AS is not that important. Actually, I don't use AS as much, but it is handy rather than lugging that tripod to the reception.

Right now it is a matter of pricing actually, I won't spend anything more than $4000 on a DSLR body regardless of what it is...

If they come out with 7D replacement, which is similar in terms of functionality however, improve in many respect, like flash performance, AF performance, cleaner ISO3200, AS, and exposure performance, but keeping the color and layout. I will be happy...

AS is one of the MAIN reasons that I havn't jumped ship.

Other pros: Great Lenses, Image Quality, After Market Support, Forum Folks... ...

BUT HOW TO LIVE WITHOUT Anti Shake!!!!!!

after u bought that 9D, all your lenses suddenly become unstabilized and Sony will never offer IS lens. why not spend the same amount to satisfy the lust of SSM, STF or Zeiss lens.:bsmilie:

Well, if what I said in the beginning come true... ISO3200 is as good as ISO800... hey, I don't think I need AS. Seriously.

But AS got its own status, Yes it is very helpful.

If they come out with a FF DSLR without AS and it is around $3k, it will be pretty good deal.

if we turned off AS we might not even notice the difference unless for low shutter speeds. i've accidentally turned mine off in the bag before, and only realised near the end of a shoot, but hey, with sufficient light, i.e. "normal" conditions, it didn't make a diff ;)
and this is from someone with trembling hands ;)

oh. forgot to say this. i hope the AS on the new body would be more advanced, like rather than shifting X and Y axis only, maybe can make it rotate too.:)
