uhh.... if it shifts on both axes isn't that already nett rotation? :) unless you mean spherical AS where the ccd is floating and attached to a miniaturised gyroscope...haha...

oh. forgot to say this. i hope the AS on the new body would be more advanced, like rather than shifting X and Y axis only, maybe can make it rotate too.:)

More powerful AS, shift X Y Z and rotation:)

Z? u need that ma?
when shifting X and Y it can also move diagonally... moving X and Y together. correct me if i am wrong... so it can also move in a circular shape too....

Hmm as in, rotate left/right like the Pentax AS system. Theirs is UpDown(x)/LeftRight(y)/rotate.

The more the merrier ma :bsmilie: Anyway I am too kiasu already:bsmilie:

there's an AS for such severe camera shake -- its called a tripod.

No 9D is dissapointment, but not No AS. I am sure they will not take away AS, but even if they did, no big deal, (hopefully cut $ from the price though). I was really hoping A100 was 9D. It was such a dissapointment to find out it was not. I was Minolta loyal. I don't care for Sony either way. Only reason I watch for 9D is because of glasses I already have and love built quality and ergonomics of 9.

if no AS on body then they will lose the competition from Nikon/Canon, unless they release the whole 'new' line of AS/IS/VR lens.

market share will be lost, at least for some time.
until the users / new users get the new gears.

I guess..

Hopefully it will be around Canon 5D recent oversea price range like below S$4000. If they want to do those whether seal of stuff, that would be more ex

Same here have the glasses but A100 is not what I want :( . Hopefully the upcoming new Sony DSLR will have better ergonomics like the Dynax 9.

I was just toying with ideas,

Supposingly if Sony release a DSLR Fullframe, 8fps, 16mp, ISO3200 as good as ISO800 on 7D, however, no Anti-Shake and price around $4000...

Will you buy it?

I will probably say yes to this... but like to see if anyone will be interested? or AS is so important that no one will consider buying one without it?

Hart

I won't buy it... firstly too expensive, secondly no AS...

I'm more hoping to see a 7D replacement first... In order of priority
1) Much better AF
2) Much better flash exposure and metering
3) Much better noise (details, no smearing)
4) Much better electronics (no random hanging with the red light on with a 4GB card full of pics...)
5) Dust cleaner (ultrasonic like Oly's)

Other bits that I assume will come with the camera:
1) More AF spots
2) Current ergonomic layout
3) Better read/write speed
4) True USB2.0 throughput
5) Shorter blackout time
6) Better battery life
7) Vertical grip with all the current controls on it
8) Dual battery capability (in body + grip like the 7)
9) ISO display in viewfinder

Wish list:
1) Histogram overlay (in viewfinder)
2) RGB histogram
3) 1/3 stop for flash compensation
4) Built-in 2GB memory
5) 5FPS shooting rate
6) Huge read/write buffer to shoot RAW continuously till card fills up (dream on I know...)
7) Larger brighter screen (3.5" anyone?)with 10x more pixel depth
8) Actual size zoom in screen
9) On-the-fly swap to true manual focus (with the driveshaft disengaged)
10) Many more...

last night, i had a dream in my sleep. i dreamt of the new D9D!! the body was so beautiful and it has a built in vertical grip!

the 9 is a pro level camera so should have built in grip IMO... but the previous one of course did not...
