since this is a Nikon event, does NPS members get priority?

No, NPS members are already priviledged by the NPS scheme provided by Nikon Singapore.

This outing is co-joined with ClubSNAP, NikonUser Forum, and heavily sponsored with equipment by Nikon SG and EPSON SG. It's meant to be available for any person, regardless of make, but priority is given to Nikon users definitely.

Presents:

2006 CLS + Colour Management Sharing Workshop Registration

From the same bunch of crazy people that brought you :
Sungei Buloh Outing 2003
Embrace Nature 2004
Nikon Portraiture Workshop 2005
Embrace Nature 2005

We're proud to organise another workshop for Creative Lighting System & Colour Management Workshop 2006

The details are being finalized as we speeeeeeeek.

The one-day workshop will be divided into two sessions, one hands-on in the morning and a debrief/sharing workshop in the afternoon. Much thanks to Nikon Singapore/EPSON Singapore for participating so fervently towards making this outing a reality.

It's heartening to know that Nikon Singapore/EPSON Singapore's continued support for our community’s effort in bringing photography to the masses is much appreciated and applauded for.

Workshop Details
Date: 13 May 2006
Possible 2nd Event Date: 20th May 2006
Cost: SGD$10 per participant (covering of nametags, 1 model, 1 make up artist, food (lunch) /drinks)
Time: 9am - 5pm (Or longer!)

Workshop Itineraries
~ Morning Hands-on Session (9:00 am to 12:00pm)
Will kick off the morning with a briefing session and move on to split the participants into 2 groups, 15 will attend the product/macro CLS session while the other 15 will attend the portrait CLS usage session. Midway we will rotate the groups.

~ Lunch break (from 12:00pm to 1:30pm)
We will stop for a lunch break at 12:00pm The workshop will continue after 1.30pm.

~ Afternoon Debrief/Sharing Session (1:30pm to 5:30pm)
~ We will adjourn to an auditorium where members will sit through a grilling 2 hours hardcore workshop on colour management and how to use Epson large format printers to print images that will make jaws drop.

~ We'll have a guest speaker too to talk more about Macro shooting (butts) and also how to maximise the use of the R1C1 to it's fullest!

Workshop leaders/volunteers
acidbyte, jnet6, yklim, Watcher, nightwolf75, KNIGHT_ONG, chngpe01, Papilio

chngpe01 - Everybody knows PE as a bird shooter, but that's not all, he does products too, and PE will be leading the class in showing how to do product shoots with CLS!

Watcher - guest speaker and leader for demonstration of human portraiture CLS, also not forgetting his role as the 2 hour hardcore colour profiling, management and printing.

Papilio - expert and regular macro shooter, also co-operator of the ButterFlyCircle. Papilio was featured in PhotoVideoI not too long ago for his outstanding macro works. So he is definitely more than qualified to share his experience in macro shooting.

The workshop is primarily targeted towards Nikon F-mount users although users of other systems are also welcome to join us. There is a size limit of 30 participants with priority given to Nikon F-mount users.

Please note that preferrably, a CLS capable body like
  • D50
  • D70
  • D200
  • D2H/S
  • D2X
  • F6
would be good if you can bring along for hands on sessions.

~ Digital Bodies

Equipment sponsored by EPSON SG
~ Printers

VENUE

For many moons when we had indoor or outdoor workshops, we've had to look for places to rent, places to house the people.

For this year, it's going to be different. We're going to use Nikon's new office located at Fuji Xerox building!!!

The new office has an auditorium built that can house 30 pax. So for once we need NOT look around for places to rent anymore!!!

3 Cheers to Nikon Singapore for the great move!

count me in please.

ok.
up for this event!

List updated, have also some confirmation from EPSON SG on the equipment they are going to loan for the afternoon workshop.

Please note: The afternoon workshop will be very heavy on colour management and Watcher will be going quite indepth into colour management, printer profiling and on using EPSON printers to print large format prints.

In short, don't eat too much during lunch :p lest you fall asleep!!

i can still remember last yr's lost looks among the Nikon Portrait Shootout 2005 attendees, when Watcher gave us a brief (very very brief....) intro to colour management.... :bsmilie:

OT: btw... for those who participated in the portrait shootout, i do believe one of the models (can't remember her name) is one of the Miss Singapore/Universe 2006 contestants. ;)

It's never easy to be organizer, kudos for your effort and "steady lah pun pi pi". Looking forward to the event. Was planning to get a printer maybe the Epson printers at the event will sway me in the right direction, .

The printers EPSON have agreed to sponsor for the events are already as listed on the first post :)

Mmm didn't know that, was browsing thru and I think you must be referring to this one. Of the 3 I think she has the most potential although the photo here does not do justice. (Sorry no offence to the others). OK maybe should get her to autograph just in case she become Miss Universe.

Not bad looking, better than previous years representing Singapore, I think some of our judges are really cocked-eye. Rated too much on other features that looks have taken a huge tumble. I wished her luck and hopes she takes on her natural hair colour instead.
