clearing stock of D40 and D80 eh :)

i guess it's better to do ur homework b4 buying...

it's supposed to be cheaper,....but seems like choppers r out for ppl if u dun do ur homework n research b4 going

Reputable shops selling D90 around ~1700 without freebiess. Is these freebies really worth 300 dollar?

i got my manfrotto 190xprob with the 486rc2 ball head for SGD316 at Cathay Photo 3 months back.

so the PwP is really attractive! i heart my manfrotto :-)

note: it's a bit heavy and not really your carry around tripod, but it does offer heaps more stability and flexibility than most of the tripods out there

Don't bother to get lens from them.

Ask them about the 24-70mm f/2.8

That guy punched the calculator and showed me $2890, cash terms.

Think I born yesterday:thumbsd:

Wonder why they bother to spend so much to set up a stall to sell at prices which are much higher than outside???

Though u were not born yesterday , I think many others are! :bsmilie:

Many of my friends do not believe me when I tell them street price can be 10-30% cheaper than all these RRP. They go for IT show because they think other times same price but no freebies. :dunno:

Also, I think some people cannot afford to pay full cash, so they go IT show, Courts, etc, so that they can pay by installments. :nono:

You will be surprised there will still be some people who will fork out that amount.
And still thinking they got a good deal.

I Second that. Even have to provide them with address to nearest shop near their house and they still wanna go squeeze the PC show. I somehow suspect they freak out when I mention why not BnS.

Alot of shops are able to pay by installments, just that there are some surcharge.
But after adding the charges, still cheaper than IT show, Courts etc. :)

Better go to Mustafa (fixed price- no headache with bargains) to buy and anything above 500 dollers, can pay in installment scheme. No approval, on the spot at the cashier.

Agree with you on that.
Although prices is abit higher than CP and MSC, there is no surcharge if you use CC installment plan.
So if you add up the surcharge from other shops, it comes down to about the same price.

$1688 for D90 seems to be good with freebies. Other shops are also selling at around $1680 with just a 4GB card and Nikon bag. Can someone confirm if we can pay by credit card installment plan at IT Show for D90?

But the 1688 is with 18-55 VR lens. Is outside shop also selling seling 1680 with 18-55vr or 18-105vr. Looking to get one too when I collect my bonus. Thanks.

oooops, I thought it was with kit lens. Thanks for correcting me. So I don't need to make a trip to IT Show :D

The people at Nikon booth is not friendly.:thumbsd::thumbsd: They just focus in the box sales.
Lens booth not people manning. No accessories at the booth.

I saw Sigma booth is having promotion on the lens.

S$2890, i thought tht was supposed to be the street price after the price increase?

i asked CP abt the 70-200 2 weeks ago and it was 3.2k!

You are right.
Outside is selling the D90 with 18-105 at around $1680+.
The $1688 with the 18-55 is Nikon's RRP.
The IT show will follow RRP, except they throw in some freebies.

It all depends on whether you need those freebies. And if the freebies suit you. A free tripod might be too low for you etc.

Bear in mind that the prices of typical freebies, such as memory cards, batteries, tripods, and some umbrella, tend to drop very quickly over a short period of time. So the total value of freebies can be lower than what you expect.

I would suggest buyers to head to a reputable shop and get cash savings on the equipment itself. Rather than getting more freebies at RRP.

The D90 kit at 1688 seems like a strategy to clear stock of 18-55VR.

I have to agree that some salespersons at the booth are not friendly.

No lah. It's not so ex....AP sells for around $2750 cash.

CP prices are generally higher. Check around, I always do. Even some sleaze shops in Lucky Plaza have quoted me less than $2890.
