I am a long time user of my faithful F601. I think its about time to upgrade to a D70. Can anyone tell me what was the best deal they got for a D70 body alone? I have been following this thread but it only mention D70 kit at $2100.

I came across a shop at Lucky Plaza & I was quoted S$1500(D70 body only). Didn't ask whether they include GST with the quoted price. What do you guys think?

A friend of mine just contacted me from Hong Kong. The D70 body was selling there for HKD7000 pre-bargaining in a shop that he just pop into on the street. That's approximately S$1550, no GST. Anyone going to Hong Kong?

that's not very much cheaper than in SG....

i've seen some quotes on this forum where it's abt $1585 or so, supposedly incld gst. i could be wrong, do a search.

and this will mean local warranty, which in the case of a body, is important.

I am comingto Singapore on the weekend of 4-5 December. If anyone wants the SB800 or Kingston 512MB CF cards at the price above, I can help you get it. I can bring it down and pass it to ya. Does Singapore customs impose any tax on photographic accessories? I will be driving down.

Erm....not to pour cold water.....I bought my D70 + kit few weeks ago @ AP Funan for $1,680 with GST(cash transaction).....I tot now should be cheaper with US$ going down so much? :dunno:

Anyhow now I am looking for speedlight..SB600 or SB800? Guys got any input which should I get and why? Thanks in advance :thumbsup:
