Mentioned in the D700s thread...

No DSLR announced next week. Guessing it will be some coolpix cameras for PMA, a fast wide-angle prime (either 24/1.4 or 35/1.4) and a zoom. Plus a surprise - not sure what it is yet, but guessing it might be a large sensor compact with builtin zoom/fixed lens.

Announced later... my guesses are

D900 (18MP or greater) in march along with some more primes (either the 24/1.4 or 35/1.4 whichever isn't announced next week plus 85/1.4), mirrorless interchangeable lens camera system in june/july, D90 replacement in August, D700s (D3s sensor) in August.

This "gooseberry's" crystal ball is one where members here can glaze ..... ;)

I wish for FF sensor in D90-size body, 3" touchscreen a-la Ipod (multi-touch)...
hahahahahaha :bsmilie:

i hope Nikon let me buy a D700 wif 70-200mm F2.8 at $3k. lol fat Hope!!!!
Sorry talking nonsense here

I hope they give me a reason to continue using Nikon :bsmilie:

I looking forward to hear about a D95 so I can compare to Canon rumoured 60D. I am asking for 1080p HD video on Nikons.

Amazing...... someone actually thought of comparing 2 cameras which don't even exist.

I wished for a 24 mm to 105 mm F2.8 & some new prime lens for my FF body.

Just find that Nikon lens range is not much as compare to Canon. Quite sad to see quite a number of people jump to Canon.

What is there to be sad about? Some years they jump from C to N, other years they jump from N to C.

Best to have both.

If you have the money. :D

No need to be sad.. that's Nikon's problem. ;p For me, I just make do with what I have. :)

hmmm a Micro 4/3 system for Nikon~~~

that can use the current lenses

Looking forward to a cheaper FX camera!

i wasted my time reading 4 pages of xxxxxx but none from nikon.

Smaller and lighter body? Haha. But I get your point.

In m4/3, only the sensor is smaller if you want to keep the lens. The difference between 4/3 and m4/3 is the redesign of the optics for a flange distance without the mirrorbox. So if you keep existing lenses, then you'll need that flange distance anyway which doesn't give a size advantage at all. Plus, the sensor size is reduced from DX, pixel density increased, noise increased. Just go compare the size of a D5000 with a GF1 or EP1. Other than the lens being shorter because of the lack of mirrorbox, the size is actually not much smaller.

i wish nikon goes into mirrorless camera with X1 sensor, fit the apsc sensor (ff i dreaming) into the compact body! fight leica heads on! however that might cost as much as a leica if it reallly happens, opps.

excited to hear some news tomorrow

Nothing surprises me anymore :bsmilie:

Me too. Unless Nikon revives its commitment to 35mm shooters with an F7 with 51 metering points, or decides to enter m4/3 territory with a serious compact that supports legacy lenses.

That said, a D3S sensor in a D700 body, as with the updating of primes such as the 28, 35 and 85mm F1.4 are not unexpected, but definitely appreciated.
