Nikon J1 ~ a travelling companion

Hi. I just bought j1 last night with 10 mm. When i do some test shot, the image is not so detail. Im in p mode and using auto iso 3200. May i know the best setting for indoor shooting? Thanks!

recommended to use a flash for indoors.

Yes, with the FT1 adaptor, you will get full AFS and VR integration with Nikkor lenses.

how about the AF with FT1 adaptor ? J1 with 70-300mm is very good combo to get 810mm focal length..

Any one using 10 mm? May i know the best setting for indoor and outdoor with good and bad lightning condition.

to get the best quality you need to lower the ISO speed. but when you lower the ISO speed the shutter speed wil also become longer which will normally result in camera shake or subject movement.
so you can make the light brighter (with a flash) or make the aperture bigger.
if your subject is not moving just use a tripod.

V1 is pretty good at ISO100, but you gonna need a tripod.

For indoor dim lighting it is very hard to control the quality, if you are picky.

This is with FT-1 and 70-200mm VRII. AF at night is not so good.

This photo is purely test shot.

For low light I use shutter priority at iso 3200 instead of aperture priority. This gives me better control over shutter speed and sharper pictures. I can live with the noise at 3200.

Thanks! Ill try it out.. Do you have any sample photos with different shooting mode with 10 mm?

Hi sorry I don't have the 10mm lens, only 10-30 and 30-110. Have you managed to try using shutter priority? Which mode works better for you?

Make a guess which is by Nikon J1 and which is by Nikon D90? ;)

Wow - your night shots are amazing! I couldn't find this place in Seoul when I made a trip there in May, but my night shots with the J1 weren't as good as this! Hard to believe this is handheld! Are you a surgeon??!! :D

If we all had that kind of budget, of course!

OM-D still selling at $1700+, you can pick up a J1 for less than $500 BNIB now!

This has been uploaded to Facebook, downloaded again, resized in Flickr again. Lazy to look for the original file from computer.

This is from a V1 with 10mm lens I guess. Not bad if you do not need to print it big.

Great, this is good news, a fast lens!

Yep! I hope so!

Rumours are that it will be priced below USD200...hopefully it will be out in a month's time as I will be making a biz trip to the good ol' money printing capital of the world!

Also, hopefully, USD/SGD will be 1:1 :D
