hey! i bought my D5000 3 weeks ago and its my first DSLR! but i have a question that i hope can get answered quickly cause im so scared!

yesterday, after reading a book about the camera (not the manual), i discovered the focus ring. i understand that i must change my lens to M mode before using it. i did, ok so thats fine. but my setting was still at auto!

so my question is: will my above-mentioned action cause the autofocus on the camera to spoil? :S

im really worried cause i keep having this feeling that the camera like cannot autofocus!

its really ok.....I cant rem where I read liao...its ok that lens set at M...but cam set at AF.....
if the lens got the AF/M...that means the lens have build in focus motor....and thats why D5000 can only buy lens with AF motor build in. ....go read the manual lah...lots of info can be found inside...

eh. havent finish leh. i bought the book for d5000 then found the focus ring part and itchy hand go and try. cause the book jz say must change to M on lens. nothing about cam. hehe. but LiuLangMao say ok leh. hahaha. hopefully as such lah.

that F-- is shown mean there no lens attached. as said in the manual page 221, hope it helps
