Never ask them put the receipt date two months later? :bsmilie:

Hi guys,

want to check with you all. I brought my D5K from harvey norman, so do i have to go online to register for the warranty? Also i have extended the warranty to 5 years, is there anyway or any links i can go, to confirm if they did extend the duration of my warranty? Thanks :)

How much did you pay for the extended warranty? The extended warranty, is by harvey norman or NSC? Since Nikon gives one year only, to my knowledge?

Paid $285 to extend to 5 years. Yah, The extended warranty is by harvey norman. So its NSC 1 year, harvey 4 years. (Just found out about it when i call up Havey norman :P)

But if *touchwood* the camera spoils 4 years later, will they replace it with a newer model? ;)

from wht i know 1st yr warr from nikon, 2nd yr onwards from harvey norman. usually the 5 yrs program is like this, i got this program for my hi-fi set before, on my 3rd it broke down, they will repair for u, if not 1 - 1 new exchange...

Well hope by then i have improve enough to move on to a better cam, cause i'm totally new to stuff like shutter speed, aperture, exposures, etc. Me super noob :bsmilie:

we r here to share tips and to learn from each another too..:)

have been using d5000 for a few weeks already and basically i am very very impressed with low noise. i always set to ISO640, den use auto ISO up to 1600 and min shutter speed to be 1/50 and get almost perfect shots every time whether i am indoors or outdoors. the only gripe i have with this camera is that the hand grip is way way too small, and nearly break my wrist when i checking my shots on the cam with 18-105mm with sb-25 flash.

of course, ppl will still say why didnt u pay more for a d90. now come to think of it, i will, for a larger grip.

Hi everyone,

I would apologized to all. I missed a lot of post.:embrass: I can't updated for you. So you send me message. that i can update for you. It is easy for me. Thanks.

try a battery grip ;p The disadvantage is the loss of 100% use of the screen, and it was annoying at times, but nonetheless better than using that small grip :bsmilie:

Is there a battery grip made/available for D5000? I don’t see it being mentioned in the manual.
BTW, how’s the reliability of the Live View screen?
I saw some bro encountered some issues with this newly bought camera & they have to do a one-to-one exchange. I guess if there’s no issue in the first place, it should work fine for many months to come.

yes there is 3rd parties one...in mass sales should be able to find it...when using the live view screen focusing is slightly slower i must say, other than that it's great~! the 1 -1 exhange is for the power switch thingy..but nothing serious..
