Don't really understand your questions, but let me try to answer anyway.

From what I know, the D90 does correct for chromatic aberrations (purple fringing), and I do think it has better noise control over the D3000. So the D90 would give better quality photos in that sense.

But then again, there are many other factors to consider, like are you as likely to bring the heavier camera out to shoot as the lighter one? Maybe you can use the price difference to invest in things like an external flash?

For me, I'm just doing photography as a hobby, the image quality of a dSLR is way better than that of the compact camera I used, so I'm happy with a D3000. I do not make a living out of taking photos, they just go up on facebook for my friends to see.

Hi Timolo,
My question is using different DSLR camera body (like D3000, D90, D300 or D5000) plug in into a very good len. The output of the photo quality,sharpness,clearness,color..etc will given different right? My opinion it would be different.

Yes, you are right, if just for hoby and use for travel.. D3000 / D5000 is good choice. If go into intermediate or really in deep.. D90 or D300S is better! ;)

:)

I bought my d3000 last September, and I am pretty happy with it.

To be honest, the camera is ok, been tinkering around with other entry level dslrs and I found this camera above it. (eos 1000d, sony 220). Except for the liveview, i think this slr can survive.

Well that's just my 2 cents. :)

i've got the 55mm- 200mm & 35mm f/1.8, other than the kit lens...
35mm being my fave...

Any advise for D3000 users who wish to get 55mm - 200mm AF lens?
When you are out on the field, 18mm - 55mm does not seem to be adequate.
Or should you settle for 18mm - 105mm lens instead?:dunno:

For the entry level:
Nikon D3000, SONY Alpha230 & Canon 1000D which one is better?

I come across the website for above 3 same level model. Only Canon 1000D have live view. But the quality is look similar. Only minor function is different.

From you experience, above 3 model which 1 is worth to have? :)

Dunno much about Sony or Canon, but I have the D3000 and I like it a lot.

According to most reviews, it produces grainier photos in high ISO conditions, and in my experience, that is quite true, though I have no other dSLR to compare against. Despite the grainy photos at 1600 ISO, I still allow the cam to bump to auto-up the ISO up to 1600.

If you want to see some photos the D3000 can produce under various conditions, take a look at my album at: http://picasaweb.google.com/kimfoongchow and see for yourself.

I agree with bubble that at higher iso's the photos tend to become grainy. However i personally usually keep my ISO at 800 max, and play around with my aperture and shutter speeds to compensate.

Thanks. I bumped up the Saturation by 2 so the colors are a little more vivid. It's a matter of taste really. Some ppl won't like so saturated colors.

Thanks, just picked up photography and I'm still learning.

Nigel's got some really amazing shots too. It's proof that despite the grainy ISO 1600, the D3000 can produce some wonderful photos.

Hi all
New member here, and an beginner at photography
Just got my d3000 kit last Saturday
Posted some pics on my "blog" here: http://clubofheroes.tk/
Still need to read up a lot more, but Im pretty happy with the camera :)

well we all kinda know this cam and all other nikon cams produce GREAT photos. but i guess the things tat make decide wad to get is the features, performance, and usability. DSLR can come a long way, even D3000 can own a D2.

Yeah its great to see the D3000 making an impact here. Plus one of my friends will be joining the community very soon !

hi guys! just got my D3000 last week, cheers :D

Just got myself a set from MS @ AMK.
Items included other than body and kit lens are cleaning kit, tripod and 8Gb card... didn't see any screen protector..
Bought a separate lens filter for protection.. $10.. pretty reasonable to me..

I'm a newbie... any tips from seasoned D3000 users to share with me?

Since this is empty post, let me post my reply to Timolol

YES! I will try to go out if possible .... kinda busy with my kid teething and my exams coming. So for now, it is more of 'out of window' shots :L
