Nikon D300 or d90 ?

Would a sports shooter be more likely to use a D300 or a D90 if he were to choose from only these two cameras?

In fact, it's quite relevant to the TS's question as it gives him an idea of either camera's strengths.

At the same time, I've seen more photographers using D80s, D90s and whatever not than D3s, D700s, D300s and 5Ds. Doesn't matter if the TS prefers to buy something from the latter group. Irrelevance or?

well, if I photograph a snooker tournament and I'm not particularly rich, I would choose the D90 over a D300...

My point is that it's different to say:

"the D300 has a higher frame rate, which might be useful to you if you intend to shoot sports or fast-moving objects"
as opposed to
"the D300 is more for sports photographers"

which one do you think highlights the 'strength' of the camera better?

I don't like the idea of pigeon-holing a camera to a certain genre of photography.
A 1DMkIV, with it's blazing ___ fps, can also be used for long exposure landscapes.

If you have done your research, you would not need to ask that question (quoted in red).

If you simply bother to google for "difference between D300 and D90" the first result will be this link:

And guess what? Just a couple of days back, I already posted in another thread, about the additional features the D300 offers over the D90. Did you bother to do a search? Or did you even bother to just look at the threads list Nikon sub-forum? You would have spotted that exact thread. Did you bother to look into D90 Users thread? or D300 Users thread? Did you really research? Or you just casually did some browsing on the subject? Research is gathering of and detailed study of information. What you probably did is just do a few clicks, page up page down.

And I do not see how the 2 cameras are that similar. Even if you bother to look at the specs of each camera, or look at the buttons, or look at the top dial, or even look at the info displayed at the top LCD, any layman would be able to tell the differences.

Rashkae is not even rude in his post. But you certainly are. Old pot calling the new kettle black. So get some manners yourself, and stop expecting to be spoonfed like a baby, unless if you are really one.

But the attitude shown in the retort is not.

And that blatant lie. Claiming to have done research, but yet ask basic questions.

And what about snapping back at the senior? If anyone is rude to u, do u take it lying down too? If he had kindly asked if mango had searched the net for more detailed info I am sure mango would have replied kindly.

if the ts had researched, and not gotten the differences between the 2 cameras, then perhaps he needs to re-examine how he researches.

typing "difference between d90 and d300" only yields like 800000000000000000000000 threads in google.

i do agree that senior members do not deserve any special treatment though..... it's just a silly title. if a moderator misbehaves (e.g. is known to flirt with xmm, suggesting morality issues) then he should not deserve any respect as well?

i think the point is not that the question is "stupid", it's just that the threadstarter is an adult and yes, we are all here to learn from each other.. but where does the buck stop is my point...? i suppose rashkae and daredevil's intentions are to tell the threadstarter that he can actually find out these information easily on his own.. and there is nothing wrong with doing that, right? since we're on education, teaching a man to fish, is better than giving him fish everytime he rubs his stomach and complains that he wants fish..? hope you get my point.
