traditionally, nikon pns is a disappointment when compare to its peers and what they can achieve with the dslr they are producing. However, this one seems to break just that. The shots in "good light" at 4R size looks really good. However, at less light condition and 100% crop seems like there are still lots work-in-progress.

I just wonder if it is possible to get maybe fujifilm, canon, or olympus equivalent for a better understand how well it will fair in a shoot out?

macro shot look fantastic. Is this the closest it can get without cropping?

You can get closer but the camera will be so close that it will block the light and cast a shadow on the subject, see the magnification test shot of the dollar coin
