will the thread infront of my TC is 58mm. so would be able to attach your TC. as for the Tcon 17, a stepdown ring from 58-52 is required like what tangoninazero has mentioned.

It's 55mm lah brudder!

Too bad I dun have any credit cards so cannot order from overseas for the adapter.

That's where I come in. ;)

That is to say.. if I dun need to connect a telephoto, the best setup is to use UR-E8 + Bernie 72mm adapter to attach filters.
When I need to attach the telephoto, i will have to remove the UR-E8, put in the 52mm adapter + 52 step up ring to 58mm to attach a 58mm telephoto convertor..
Seem troublesome to me :p

I am not very sure if the combo that you mentioned will cause any vignetting at wide angle. but my guess is yes it will.

well if you want to use your sony TC, all you have to do is remove the entire UR-E8 with the 72mm adapter from the camera and fix the 52mm +TC to it.

Since you are using 58mm filters all the time, i suggest that you keep the 52-58mm permnantly attached to your 52mm. (2nd Piece)

Wanna join in? My present setup actually fits into the S&F Reporter AW100 but it's kinda cramped. The 200AW is perfect though. With space for the WA too.

i would like too leh.. but i am saving for the SB80DX.
how much will it cost if we get it now?

One question to ask 5700 users regarding the autofocus problem in low light condition. If switch manual focus, it shouldn't be a problem right ?

= S$580 to S$600 + S$20GST

For 4 pieces :
US$99.95 x 4 = US$399.8 + either
1) AIR PARCEL POST - US$35

Manual focus on the 5700 isn't as easy as the 717.
The focus ring is much much faster on the 717.
In addition, the larger lcd (for lcd users) as well as the enlarge image feature (forgot the exact term) in the 717 helps a lot as well.

Oic.. so its very hard to manual focus..
Btw, I seldom use the lcd.. normally use the EVF unless I have to raise the camera above my head.

wonder how other photographers do it as seen in the nature section..

as with most long lens....i think the photographer needs a tripod...if not a car pod if shooting from the car...due to high focal lengths..this includes good long lens technique..

they normally shoot with TCs with long lens 300/4 or 500/4....n plus FLM from DSLRs it gives them additional reach with no loss of speed.

I'm kinda new to this..
would you like to elobrate on the lens techniques?
hmm.. wat is FLM?

Hi Hobbes,

FLM = Focal Length Multiplier

Also know as FOV crop (Field of View).

Like the 1.5x crop factor of the D100.
